Hi everyone. I was Wondering what is a well known, CLEAN brand of soil for indoor growing? I have used Fox Farms in the past and it was infested with gnats.

(takez seat in back) :pop: subbin up for the insight ;) ppp

I wondered the same thing myself and switched down FFOF to Roots Organic Original for my first all indoor grow.

A couple weeks later, I see a gnat crawling around. Just one, but there’s probably more that I don’t see.

Now I’m left thinking I can’t control my environment enough to be sure it’s the soil. There’s a lot of variables to control for.

I mixed my soil outside. Soil could be clean, but are my amendments? Did a gnat just fly by at the right time?

I used a spade that I kept outside. Was it contaminated?

I carried the newly potted plants directly from outside to the inside tent. Did a bug catch a ride on my clothes?

The tent itself is not hermetically sealed. There are a couple gaps where the zippers meet where a determined bug could make it in.

That said, Roots Organic Original was not teeming with gnats as far as I could see.

Clean soil is more from how its handled after it leaves the factory. Stored on pallets outside will get you criters...
Look to how your supplier stored the medium. Chances are if it was outside, all their brands will be infested.

Never had an issue with biobizz.other side of pond.i get it from the internet big bag sealed in another bag, suspect it’s allways been indoors.everything growing wise comes from internet.
Pots and all stay indoors.
