Problem: Seeing margin/tip burn across many fan leaves. Newer growth has been clawing to an extreme.

Medium/grow method: Following the BAS schedule - basic dry amendments on top of well water; which is around 250 ppm from the tap. They get a weekly top dress of the components BAS prescribes. Soil is Coasts of Maine Stonington Blend - in an earthbox. Top dressed with some craft blend (1/2" layer) at the start of the grow; and again right before flowering set in.

Feed: and supplements used: Weekly waterings with Rootwise Enzyme Elixir, Bio-Phos, Big 6 micros, Thermx Yucca, and freeze dried coconut water. About1 tbsp of grokashi top dressed in for the weekly feeds.

water source: Well water (~250ppm).

Strain/age: Twenty20 Mendocino Whiskey Zulu - Day 46

light used: HLG 350R @ 15"

Climate: 72.6F & 56.5% RH

Additional info: I've been tracking this issue for most of my grow. I initially labeled it as an excess from hot soil and direct planting my seeds. However, I have two plants running under this setup, and only one of them is displaying the problem. While it abated during the veg stretch, I'm starting to see signs that it's returning -- so I'd appreciate any insights!

I'm starting to think maybe this is a calcium toxicity locking out potassium and magnesium. The tips had me thinking toxicity for a good long while - but some of these other signs don't seem to align. As mentioned, my water comes from a well and is hard bordering on very hard.

Thanks in advance for having a look.

Dang! I may have to agree; Cal tox leading to L/O of K. I gotta say I have a very similar set up/inputs and I'm experiencing somthing similar/the same on a couple of my Triks autos. I too thought too much Cal after two poundings of Nectar's Bloom Khaos/Herc Harvest 1-2 punch of Huge calcium iimput. Coupled w/ harder well water (i'm in a new home on a well, old place was municipal). I never had this problem at the old place. I have personally just started giving RO to the effected ones. Also, I was suggested to do a vermicompost tea watering (no other stuff except molasses), as a 'reset', by a very respected organic gardener in the community. I'm giving that a shot today; prepped yesterday. IMHO you have a ship ton of food coming in, from originally potent Stonington blend, dry amendments, hard water, and the 'extras' watered in. Personally I'd dial it back a bit. Blessings for a speedy recovery, I know it stinks when our plant friends are less than perfectly happy.

Thanks a lot - Really helpful to hear from someone in a similar place!

Thank you very much for sharing your own experience here, and I'm sorry to hear you're wrangling similar issues - but it sounds like you're on top of it. Regarding this being your first issue like this: This is my 9th grow, and I've seen some kind of issue like this in virtually every one. Usually around the time flower sets in. The only exception was when I did a coco run and used RO the whole time. (Whole different set of issues there hehe) More and more, I'm thinking it's the water. It's the only common denominator I can come up with.

I switched the RO unit on last night and got a few jugs filled. Will get my supply built back up and just use that for a few weeks to see what happens. I also did a quick foliar spray with some epsom salts & thermx last night to try and get some Mg to those leaves. I'll skip this week's top dress too. I'll update in a few days if the problem worsens or stops spreading. Also going to look into your tea idea - that seems like a solid idea as well, and I have plenty of compost.

Thanks again, and best of luck with your girls. Looking forward to seeing how that tea does.
