Just wondering if anyone is using them and do you even need a fan if you have good exhaust fan?
Kind of thinking of useing the single ones so I can spread them out. These are what I'm talking about.
Amazon product ASIN B07PR9ZD63

And I guess that's part of what I'm getting at. I've got fan down low bringing air in. I have a small oscillating blowing across the tops of plants and another up top exhausting air. Do I need to pay for fans built into the lights?

Only if you can't get rid of the heat produced. It's going to dissipate 300 watts in heat. I run 450 watts passively cooled in a 4x4.

Thank you. I had bought a 1500 watt unit cause it seemed like a good deal and now I'm having to keep a second ac running- maybe not such a good deal. We need a flea market on here. Somebody recently sold something on Craig's list and apparently they realized he had a grow and they came back , shot and robbed him

Yeah... good way to get ripped off. Have been around growing since before the internet, lights are one of a couple items that I won't skimp on. Good lights, good nutes and medium, good genetics. My lights are DIY, cause I just couldn't swing a grand in lighting, but doing it myself cost about half that for the same quality. I'd rather have a plant under great lighting in a corner of my room, than have all the other stuff (tent dehumidifier etc) but have to cut costs on the lights.

You can buy great equipment from the start, or buy cheaper stuff that you'll probably replace a couple times, and your crop quality/ cost suffer.

When your an old guy livin on ss it's tough to start out with the best
Take a look at cobshop, on a budget, singles would be the way to go, start small and add on as you can afford it. While the cheaper lights cost less to start with, they usually eat more power for a given result as well. DIY is also a possibility if interested, Horticulture Lighting Group has some affordable QB kits. Have done one myself, the wiring is easy peasy.

I was thinking of the singles cause you can put where you want. 3 in a 12" case doesn't seam efficient- but I'm no engineer. I've replaced all the flourescent lights in the bus with the diy strip lights and made video light with the same. Even made a solar powered sign for the track with some. I just haven't had time to investigate the grow light strips. It would be nice to make something that fit the space. Think I'll get single just to get the seedlings going and take the time to figure the strip things out. Maybe I can even run those off solar.
