dont get a cheap one.... if you cant swing the money for something like a hannah 98129 then buy liquid drops... they are cheap and effective... cheap meters lead to problems... just about the time you learn to trust it... it will screw you.
The Hanna 98129 is what I use also. Worth the money and will last for years. Make sure you also get 7.01 calibration solution, as well as cleaning and storage solution.
A bit more research reveals this from a respected London hydroponics shop - it looks as though the ph pro may well be worth the money even though it is more than I wanted to pay.
The cheap test meters are a case of hit and miss mine has been faultless and ive checked it against some ph fluid so it is bang on but i would buy a better one when i get the cash too.
