Hello Everyone, I have been searching the web for the last year on cannabis and gout. There are only 2 rational and scientific medical findings, that all come to the same conclusion.
1) cannabis does in fact, help with anti-inflammatory properties and pain relief. There are several sections on it here in the med section and I dont want to be redundant.
2) MMJ or Cannabis, simply Cannot take the purines, that crystalize in your blood, that get trapped in the lower extremities first,whick causes the area to swell and flush them out of your system.
There is great news though, to help with this condition. I am going to sound like your Doctor here, but the simple truth to CURE your gout, is your diet and deleting all processed sugar and up your bodies PH to a 7 or better.
There is the PH thread, here in the med section for you to give that a go. It is a great starting point, but if you want to NOT have to take 1 or 2 pills, the rest of your life, we need to make a few minor changes in your diet.
1)A paleo lifestyle is better suited for low purine buildup in your blood system.
2) Raising your bodies PH, give your body its natural healing abilities, back in your own hands.
3 Weight loss. Most people who have gout are over weight. There are some who aren't, but my searches have indeed revealed, most are over weight. Gout is hereditary and passes from parents to children too, so that will be the exclusion to being overweight.
4) Water, the key to life, the key to a gout flare-up. The only way for your body to pass the purines through your system, is through your kidneys. More water, more trips to the bathroom! The more water you can drink, the better.
5) Even a few gout flare-ups can leave permanent damage to the affected joint. That affected joint will be the trigger point for your next flare up too.
SO, you say you want to free yourself from this PAINFUL, debilitating disease? Then follow a few simple rules and manage your gout and its flare-ups. The steps are simple and are the same exact steps in the PH positive thread.
1) start the PH positive.
2) drink a minimum of a gallon of water a day.(buy some straws. It is a proven fact that you will consume more, drinking through a straw!)
3)Diet. Paleo, but at first you will have to be careful of the NO NO Foods your doc told you about. Coffee, Beef, shellfish, beer, thick tomatoe pastes and the like.
4)NO processed sugar! No soda, sweets, candy, chocolate, unless its dark chocolate and less is more here, but to satisfy a small craving after a few weeks wont hurt. But again, less is more.
5)exercise. doesn't have to be alot, start out slow, simple movements of stretching will be good/
6)Magnesium. Magnesium oil and Magnesium chloride flakes are your friend and cannot say enough about getting these into your system if you have gout or arthritis. Plenty of threads on it in the med section.
