If I may make a suggestion, if you are going you need to book yesterday. Amsterdam isn't that big of a city and you can't just drive around there so if you stay outside the city then you have to park on the outskirts of town and take the train into the city every day. It can be time consuming.

A lot of peeps I know(who go over there) tend to rent a private apartment. If you get a few of you, it can save a bit of cash and take the hassle out of smoking your gear(some hotels can get a bit funny about it)!
