in my first ever grow i grew a g13 labs auto white russian and she just got chopped the other day, still hanging to dry now.

but i took one of the smallest lower "twigs" with buds so tiny i didnt think they could hold a seed just to quick dry and sample the plant and to our surprise we found a seed!? which looks to be a mature seed? i won't know if there are any more in the plant till she finishes her dry but you can see from my grow journal i didn't have any males or hermi plant, so this seed surprised me....

i guess i'm just wondering if it would be viable and if this is normal for auto's?

In order for there to be a seed there had to be some male pollen from somewhere. There could have been a male flower that you didn't see, some pollen left in your grow area from a previous grow, or some brought in by you on your clothing or hands. And yes, it should be viable.

No, it is not a 'normal' thing in autos...as Muddy stated, a seed is a positive sign ya got some pollen from somewhere...Until last year, my grows were 'remote' ....yet inside a large room where I usually had 20-30 autos at a time....the 'caretaker' didn't recognize a hermie and I had seeds on almost every frigging plant !!!
Somewhere, somehow ya got some pollen.

well i hope it was just a tiny male flower on the very bottom of the plant. i tried to keep a close eye out for any "bananas" and never spotted one. newbie screw up i suppose, I've never grow before so no possible pollen in cabinet to begin with and i don't come into contact with cannabis in any way outside my grow so its the only logical reason, i was just hoping for spontanious seed generation :)

The seed should be feminized correct?

my girl smokes not me so is it possible for there to be pollen in some herb she got from a local dealer?? that shouldn't be possible should it?

well fingers crossed this didn't seed up my whole cabinet, the buds don't appear to be bursting with seeds but i didn't expect to find this one either...

:bow:its the virgin mary.....jane

from that photo theseed looks about 3-4 weeks old, is it still a bit green or is that just my eyes? even in the smallest autos/photos it can be impossible to spot a single bannana growing in/out a bud. If you do grow the seed out watch her closely for signs of hermie

seed is slightly greenish but no more so than some i've recieved via attitude... and ya if i do grow it out i'll be all over that thing, looking up her skirt everyday!

turns out Ian Malcolm was right...
jeff.jpg my plant must have had frog dna
