Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm wondering if the intake fan can rest on the floor whilst being connected to the tent via a length of aluminium ducting (the same which connects the other end of the fan to the Carbon filter). I tried resting the fan on the top of the tent but it didn't look too stable.

Cheers

it can but every bend in the ducting results in loss of air flow so less is more in this situation, is it for your fresh air intake for the grow room or the inline that is attached to carbon filter or is it the inline fan boosters for a reflective hood more info would help too etc. the distance you want ducting to travel and cfm of fan?

It's an inline fan attached to the carbon filter. The fan is the Can-Fan 100 which I believe has 737 CFM. The tent is 1.40 metres high and I have 5m of ducting to play around with.

No buddy it's sucking air out of the tent, into the carbon filter. This is the only fan I have thus far. I want air to be sucked out of the top of the tent through one of the vents up there and then into the carbon filter (I think this is how it's supposed to work anyway!). I could hang the fan using one of the clips or straps provided, but it looks a bit lopsided doing that.

I only intend to use a 250 cfl so temps shouldn't be a problem. I'm even considering ditching all fans and just using some form of odour control outside not connected to the tent at all, like a plug in odouriser.
