I'm a total newbie and have recently (4-5 weeks ago) planted 2 White Widow, Auto, Feminized plants. Before doing my homework unfortunately. They were germinated at the same time from the same batch of seeds. One was planted in the ground out in my vegetable garden and the other in a 5 gallon pot with unknown soil in it. They are right next to each other. The one in the soil is slightly shorter (about 24 inches tall) and not as bushy but already has noticeable buds developing and has had for a week or so. The one in the pot is about 3 inches taller, Much bushier but does not have any buds, only the little feather like things at the nodes. So What's Up With That ?? They are both on dripper watering 1GPH 15min. every other day. (about 1 qt every other day with no supplemental nutrition). Could the soil differences be causing this Early (or Late) bud production or do you think I may have gotten a mixed batch of seeds?? All the other conditions seem the same.
PS: My next grow starting next week will be in pots with Sunshine #4 mix + Vermiculite using the wet/dry system and nutrients.
Any helpful hints will be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I had an auto ultimate that grew to 1.5m and next to it one that had 70 cm. Same everything... I am a newbie also but I don't believe the soil has anything do do with it unless one has, idk, flowering nutrients in it? Let's see what the pros say.

So What's Up With That ??
MD, auto by definition have an internal "clock", if you will, and once they germ that clock is running, and nothing stops it. :eyebrows:
Soil type, light, pot size, water and pH all have a big impact on overall plant size and yield, so that's most likely what your seeing.
This would be a dandy time to start a thread and post some pics! :photog:
