i have 2 autos that were taking to long to start flowering, so I switched them to 12/12. Now that they have started to flower, is it safe to give them more light ?

Yea I don't think you can go back without some possible negative consequences you don't want. It likely wasn't a full auto I've had it happen myself and can be frustrating if you have multiple strains of autos going as I didn't feel it was worth the effect on all the others so I put it outside which it was early fall but its quite likely from what I understand an example of a line not being bred far enough and actually stabilisation as autos. From what I gather not all breeders are equal and some won't take photo to auto crosses far enough in to be all auto seeds or be fully auto. You're in about as good a place as possible to get information and insight here though. The people on here are knowledgeable relatable and non judgemental. Good luck hope things turn out well for you.
If your autos required 12/12 to get them to flower,
their not autos. More than likely, if purchased in the breeders packaging, it was a line that had not been worked far enough to "lock in" the auto gene.
12/12 for the remainder of the run.
