Hello Everyone,
This is my first thread here and first time on this site. I have 6 Snow Ryder seeds germinating. I am going to use a 150 Watt HPS and starting them in 6" pots (recommended on Dope Seeds where I purchased them). I have organic soil (I want this grow to be as organic/chemical free as possible). I plan on 18/6 for the light regimen. My only question is what do I feed them? I have read many places that they are light eaters and not to give them too much nutes. I noticed a lot of people have nute lock or they feed them too much. I have molasses and I plan on using it and was considering just using molasses and nothing else. Is this a waste of time if I just use molasses and nothing else? Please advise on a what nutes I should feed them. Thanks in advance for any help. Looking forward to what you all recommend!

Well I'm no expert, but if you are in the european zone I think you should get BioCanna Flores, and if you are in the states you should get a similar product from Earth Juice. Both are organic and are hard to burn your plants with.

When you start to feed totally depends on pot size and the type of soil you have, but I think you should start feeding them lightly as of the 2nd week, once a week, and once they start to get bigger either feed twice a week with a light feeding or once a week with a more concentrated feeding. The plants will tell you if they are hungry, and if they are just up the feedings :)

Always start light, and never use the numbers written on the bottles. In my experience, even using half the recommended dose might result in burns sometimes. I start at 25% the recommended dose and move upwards as the plants communicate their needs.

ps: Molasses is a good soil amendment, but thats all it is. Use it along with your nute feedings.

Molasses also contain some good micronutrients like magnesium, calcium and iron.
Thai Buddha Man might be right about the nutelock, but I think that depends on the EC of the water you are feeding.
But to be safe I would follow his suggestion.

im part of the crowd that believes molasses should be at every feeding. But I also feed full strength nutes every feeding too. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

I'm finishing up 3 Snowryders right now, ready to pick by Sunday. I've also grown them a couple times before. I've found they handle nutes pretty well. I started them out on half strength 20-14-13 at week 2 through week 6, then half strength 11-35-15 with every watering through week 10, then flushed for 2 weeks.

Don't discount the use of some chemical nutes. Chemical nutes are taken up by the plant much quicker than organics. If you show a deficiency a chemical nute will effect the plant much faster. Organic nutrients are more complex and take longer for the beneficial fungi in the soil to break down and process.

I've run a whack of SR's..

I wouldn't say they are light feeders. I have gone full strength on the nutes every run. SR is much much better in pure organics.

The best phenos are the pine one, and the juicy fruit one. I worked the juicy fruit one for 3 generations. More or less got it stable. Super stinky :D

Thank you all for your advice. This is my 2nd grow so I'm still a total greenhorn. What product should I use with the molasses? Thanks you all for letting me know that SR isn't a light eater. I've gotten more info and more replies here than at RIU. And thanks to you guys for pointing out that not all chem nutes are bad. I will definitely NOT count them out then. I agree Thai Buddha Man... I am no expert by any means... but I do see in a lot of journals and threads that people overuse them. I'm obviously not looking in the right places for the correct info. I'm glad my girl found this site!!!

I don't know how I skipped your post C.E. but I just noticed it... Anyway thank you for the great input. I used Canna Terra Flores or something like that in my last grow. I don't remember the exact name. I was totally inexperienced and believe it or not I waited too long. I harvested past the time. Plus it was bag seed, nothing I'll waste my time on again. That's why I picked auto flowers to try next. I will look into the earth juice. They just got placed in the soil a few hrs ago So I got plenty of time to buy nutes before the first feed. I have been having a back n forth with some people on RIU... They say auto flowers veg... I THOUGHT that was the whole point of autos (to skip veg and go right into Flowering). Back on the subject... So, I first feed on the 2nd week and use the Earth Juice or Canna along with the molasses? Correct? Thanks again and I really appreciate your input. I should have come to this site first!

Molasses doesn't do a whole lot for the plant itself, but mostly what it does is feed the myco herd, which in turn takes the nutes from the soil and make them readily available to the plant.
Suggest using between your nute feedings. It can be mixed with your nutes but you run a small risk of nute lockout, rare but can happen.

I used black strap molasses on my first grow between feedings. Should I use a tablespoon to a whole gallon of water?

I just went to Hydro-Organics.com and they have 18 different types of liquid fertilizers. The ones that stood out to me were the bloomin' guano and the sugar peak flowering blends. They also have a sugar peak Grand Finale which I'm considering getting for the last two weeks. My question is which one out of the 18 is best for the Snow Ryder? I'm assuming NOT the veg ones and I've heard guano along with molasses gets great results. What would you guys recommend? I got two weeks from today to figure it out! Thanks again for you all's responses and help. I REALLY appreciate it!
