Hey folks,
My local water treatment facility uses chloramine. My water quality report however, only shows ammonia concentration, which I assume comes solely from the chloramine. I’ve read on here that you can neutralize 3.8 ppm of chloramine with 50mg of ascorbic acid. I’ve also read that the chlorine-to-ammonia ratio of chloramine is typically no greater than 4:1.
Can I use the above information to calculate the total chloramine in my tap water? For example, if my tap water contains 0.25 ppm of ammonia, does this mean my chloramine concentration is no greater than 4x0.25 + 0.25 = 1.25 ppm?
Thanks,
