Hi everyone! Just by feeling the form out I already think I know what's wrong with the plant, because I was confronted with my own newbyness! :)

Phosphorous deficiency, does anyone agree or have another idea? I want to ear from what you think.

Pst! :)

I've feed them some bio-bloom today. I wish bio-bloom could be given foliarly!

I'm no doctor Hugo, so no definites. Other than the spots (that don't look like sickness to me) and little bits of necrosis (that puzzle me) on one or two leaves, the plants look real healthy. Why don't you have Seaweed in you goody bag? Being a foliar friend, I thought you'd know about the benefits of a nice Kelp pick me up every now and then. Hmm?

Those White spots are from some White flies I was having, but it's ok now.

The necrosis started a couple of days after last feed, so I started worrying wether it was P def or overdose of nutrition. Overdose nutrition is real bad! I know it from personal experience things escalate quite fast! The water is sucked from the plant into the medium and it doesn't recover from that. the necrosis initially was of a green/brownish look and it was very tender tissue.

But offcourse I have seaweed! I forgot to mention it at that post :) I gave it a kelp (Alg-a-Mic) foliar feed and it was attenuated (the dying tissue died and the rest of the leaf looked perkier) but it's not controlled yet ;) When a symptom appears, we like to be on top of things, and I know kelp is my friend! :)

I admit I'm not familiar with how it works. I know it's a chelating agent and its also a microfeed, and that's about it eheh! I'll have to study a bit into that!

Thanks for the imput my friend!

Hey, Hugo. My first thought is that she's short on magnesium. The giveaway interveinal yellowing and brown spots look pretty usual for mag. Why it's happening.. ie is there a shortage or is there a lockout is not something I can say for sure but I have a strong gut feeling if it's any use to you:

I note that you're using quite a lot of additives and one of the hottest soils around. Honestly.. you could just stop using all that right now and get far better results just using the biobizz grow & bloom. Those girls are too small to need anything else so it'll all just buildup in the soil and lockout other nutes, which is what I suspect is a prime suspect here and what's causing a mag lockout. It all seems a bit too hard on the girls and I think they could do with a breather from all your love and attention, and just get a bit of K.I.S.S.

One thing I will say is that biobizz nutes (when used alone) are notoriously light on magnesium so when used alone a half a tsp of epsoms with the feed every now and then does a lot of good.

Sorry.. ha ha.. totally forgot to add that I'd flush her with plain 6.5ph water (3 x the pot size in fluid) and then wait til she dries out, then feed with 1/3 strength biobizz nutes according to their schedule (so both grow and bloom) with a tsp of epsoms. That should hopefully sort it out and give them some time to regain their feet.

Mag! Hum, so that's what it looks like? That is a great advise! I can't say I didn't already thought about it (using too many stuff), which only makes it a bit more stupid to keep on pressing the wrong buttons!

I'm not at home right now, and I already gave her some PK feed today. So I'm going to wait it out until next water time: Friday. I think they'll be ok until then so I can stop the micro additives and add some mag in return, maybe foliarly depending on how it turns out until then.

Thanks for that input! :)

Hey, Hugo. Yep you could foliar feed some epsoms. Gets it into the plant quicker. There's a foliar-feeding guide on the forum that's excellent at explaining the process. I'll see if I can find it and link it here..

This is one of those times in growing where less = more.

Sending over lots of green mojo. :peace:

What do you reckon on cal:mag ratio with Sensi cal/mag grow: 8:1? I've been using it. One might think it wouldn't be a Mg def then, but I've seen reports talking about a proper ratio of 5:1 or even 3:1. I reckon they're not talking about marijuana though! ;)

I've never used it, Hugo, so I can't really say. But many people overlook the fact that mag gets locked out with too much calcium.. quite easily in fact for fast-growing plants like cannabis.. so if someone is adding it at an 8:1 ratio to already hard water, OR also adding molasses (high in calcium) it's easy to see mag deficiencies not because there isn't enough of it in the soil.. but because the plant can't use it so it becomes deficient. I get it a lot if I'm not careful.

You're in Portugal, right? What's your tapwater like there? Soft / hard?

:peace:
