Hi All. I've been lingering for quite a while, finding out a lot of info and reading grow journals. I've completed 5 grows. My success has varied but all survived and gave me around 1oz each. Not great but not too bad.

Anyhoo. I'll get to the point. My Dinafem XXL white widow auto has been growing great. Just finished week 3 and lots of new, lush green growth. Then, like the bumbling idiot I am, I've snapped the main stem clean off whilst trying to start LST. I've tried tape etc today but it's just in such a bad place that I can't get the tape to keep it in place.

It's broken just above the 1st node. It's so close to the node I can't get my tape/splint to stay in place. I've put the top straight into some water to keep it alive.

What do you guys reckon is my best move? If I can get my clumsy hands to fix the break will it be better than just leaving it off? Should I try to clone the bit that snapped off or just forget about it? I don't have any cloning supplies but I can go out and grab some later if it's worth a try???

I've got lots of seeds so I can start another one off if you think my yield will be too small to bother continuing the grow. But dammit, I wanted a head start on this plant since I'm harvesting my current flowering plant this week.

This is my biggest downer since I started to grow :( The plant has been topped, basically, but it's so low down that there's not many leaves. Growth will be very seriously stunted.

Any advice would be appreciated guys. Thanks!

If you have plenty of spare seeds you might want to try experimenting with the piece you snapped off. Dip it in root powder and try to clone it you never know you might end up with a mini xx.
As for what you have left in the ground it will survive and be a short bushy plant with 2 heads.
I snapped the top off my og kush and it didn't do her any harm

Thanks for the quick reply! :D

I might give it a go with some root powder. I'll only be throwing the top away otherwise so it's worth a try. I'm pretty gutted about breaking it but you've made me feel a bit more positive about it. It's not a disaster but an opportunity to learn lol. Thanks mate!

iv just done this too my Bubble Kush yestday LST her right near the bottom she broken,i warp a hemp paper around me girl and spray it with clone spray, she looking good today picking back up ,iv given her an other spary,we see how she is in a coulp more days,:pass: Peace Kudo.jpg

Tie her straight up from the lamp and feed lots of silica. When you LST pinch the stem over a few inches to make smooth bends. Check out HygroHybrid on youtube for this.

Thanks to all who offered advice. I'll be a bit less heavy handed with my next LST :stoneslap:

I'm over it now lol. It just looked so healthy before but now I have two main tops so we're golden. I'm lucky this happened to an XXL auto or I might have been stuck with a 3" midget plant.

I measured her yesterday evening and again this morning. She's grown almost an inch. She had just started her vigorous vegetative growth spurt and it looks like it hasn't stressed her too much.

Ah, the lifetime learning experience that comes with growing plants...... :D

I snapped my top 3 nodes off by LST and I bandaged it up.
Ive seen this fix Photoperiod plants but never seen it done to Auto's.
Will this have any detrimental effects and will it still grow?
