hey guys iv been meaning to start a useful thread.
so here are a few tips iv learned and want to share.......
nft tray
#1 if you are unable to check ph - ppm. use smaller amounts of water for your res and
change out resovoir every 3 days maximum, thus avoiding ph inbalance and nutrient concentration.
#2 try to get the nutrient balance right for your plants.
if you get this right your plants take up nutes and water in equall amounts also avoiding ph and ppm problems and root lock out.
#3 raise nft from the ground if possible.
helping a bad back is one reason, easier to drain res when its ready, place old blanket or somthing under the tray (the pumps somtimes vibrate), and also stops the tray from transfer'ing cold from the ground (the roots can/wil enter the res and get cold).
scrogg tips
#1 when making scrogg 2,3,4 inch holes are very good for the screen,
#2 string is very good for the screen.
with string make sure to pull it very tight or the screen is usless and offers very little support.
#3 wire is also good for the scrogg
with wire make sure the wire does not cut the plants, and also coated wire is better for the screen as uncoated wire can rust and cause mould/bud rot
#4 just before flowering with a scrogg trim your girls.
any leaves stuck near the bottom or off shoots that wont hit the light, get em off
#5 raise plants from the ground.
when the scrogg is on its hard to get underneath the canopy, therefore leave maybe 3foot from the floor to your scrogg which means if you need to you can crawl under and trimm.
