Hey guys, first time having this issue with my Guardian but I was doing routine maintenance and I finally got some 2.77ec solution (bluelab) and I’ve cleaned my conductivity probe many times and my ec still comes to 2.6 instead of the 2.7 or 2.8. Anyone have any guidance or experience with this. Someone said something to me about the solution needing to be a certain temp? Any solutions to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Ec meters are temperature sensitive and good ones usually self adjust. My apera takes a good 2-3 minutes to settle in. However, 0.17ec difference is not a huge deal, it's like 75ppm. But I'd message bluelab about it and see what they have to say, especially if it's under warranty

I know it’s always +-1 but having 3 different solutions say 2.6 and I just bought this meter for my current grow and using it for almost 10ish feeds I’m pretty bummed, I had contacted support this morning but I appreciate your input JP

Is there a calibration setting on the unit? Perhaps it needs to be adjusted slightly.

If you know the reference solution to be accurate, but the unit says otherwise, adjust to the solution. I have the same issue on my EC pen. I can put it in the calibration fluid, set it, and retest a minute later and it's off by just a hair. I've tried adjusting the difference out but eh. Close enough sometimes. Although, that guardian unit is pricey. I'd want it spot on. My $30 pen? It can be off

You do mean the BlueLab Guardian monitor? Or do you have something different?

So that is the upgraded guardian monitor, mines the Mongua guardian! (No Wi-Fi and stuff just the normal meter) Unfortunately for those you don’t calibrate them, you clean the conductivity pen vigorously with cleaning solution and clean the nute/salt buildup on the probe and stick it into the 2.77 EC solution and it’s supposed to read 2.7 or 2.8. I did contact bluelab so we’ll see what’s going on

Ah ok, so no calibration adjustment to be made. Yeah, I tried to look up the older unit but the site kept redirecting to the new wifi model.

Edit: Do let us know if they get you sorted. They ought to with the cost of that unit.

Will do my friend! I know it seems silly with my current grow having no res, but I plan on implementing either autopots or my own drip irrigation from a res so this is why I run with this meter setup. Plus this monitor also has a soil ph probe so it’s an all-in-one setup for me being able to switch out probes and not need 3 different handheld units. Appreciate your time/help on this post

Little update on the matter, talked to Gina from blue lab and she told me to soak the meter in diluted pH down with a ratio of 1:1 for 30min and to clean it again, not dry off the probe shake it dry, put the shroud on and put it right into the 2.77 solution. Will update again when my package of 2.77ec solution is delivered. She said the probe could be porous and this is why it isn’t reading correctly.
