Good idea or bad idea?

Newish grower here, grew a Northern Lights auto outside last year, wanting to try something a bit more sativa-leaning this year.

I’m at 40 degrees north latitude in the Midwest US. It can get humid, but not Gulf Coast humid.

So, is this strain reasonably mold-resistant? I quad-lined the plant I grew outside last year to aid in airflow, I may try that again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, I been F’n around, now I’m gonna find out.

Day 15 and outside she goes, the aggressive root growth was about to overwhelm the 1-liter yogurt cup she was started in. Likewise for the Daquiri Lime on the opposite side of the deck. Great White mycos and been spraying the soil with Super Seaweed by MicroLife.

(No outdoor grow next year, gotta rebuild the deck.)

Crap, 33 days in and I haven’t updated this.

Topped her at 22 days because she was outgrowing her camouflage. Then on further evaluation, I tied her down and spread her out.

The week after that was cool, cloudy, and rainy. And she (and my other outdoor plant) just looked offended and didn’t seem to do much.

Now we’ve got temps in the high 90s and buttloads of sun. She’s flowering and just starting to stretch. And the camouflage plants are growing also.

I’m happy so far.

Well, what a difference a week makes.

Last Friday I went out in the morning to check my plants on the deck and discovered that my poor training techniques had caused the main stalk of this girl to crack, almost all the way through. Ugh. (In my case, the old saying Live And Learn seems to actually be Kill A Plant And Learn.)

So I stood her back up straighter and splinted her with a couple of pieces of bamboo. And hoped for the best.

For the next 3 days or so, all her energy went into straightening up.

What was a sorta level canopy when she was tied down is now a lopsided freak show. But, she has 7 potential colas, and she’s flowering.

So for Resilience and Hardiness I’ll give the strain a solid 9.99 out of 10. If she would have gone in the garage, gotten the bamboo rods, and splinted herself I’d give her a 10. LOL

Well, chopped at 75 days. When she dries I’m thinking I’ll have about 1.5 ounces.

Next time I run this will be indoors. Not sure why but both strains I ran outdoors this year had poor root development. And it had to be something I did. So I have some figuring out to do.
