Greetings to the wonderful people of AFN :bighug::welcome:.

Where to start? Well, seeing that I have 4 tents lying around it would be a shame not to run them one more time before the hardcore summer heats, right? Not to mention that I received some Biotabs goodies from @Biotabs F69 (thank you very much!) and I still wanna perfect my Autopot-Biotabs setup, so off we go to new growing adventures :woohoo:.

After the last grow I decided that I wanna try out soil instead of coco this time to see if I can battle some problems and disadvantages I had the last couple of grows (CalMg defs, seedling problems - due to lousy watering probably?), so almost the same setup this time just with soil :pop:.

Not to forget, I'll be running photo-sensitive plants for the first time :woohoo1:. I'm testing FLOrganics in 2 pots right now and it had to be photos, so I planted 2 more to fill one tent. Very very excited about this!

Another new thing I'll try this run is Airdomes. One soil tent will have 4 autoflowers with airdomes, we'll see what it can do.

Think that's about it, as I'm a lazy (or busy? :smoking:) stoner I'm just gonna blatantly copy the first post from my Coco-Autopot thread as it's almost the same thing . The guest-list will stay the same also, so don't be confused guys, this IS a different thread :smokeit:. Back to the topic:

  • 4x4 tent with 600 W MH/HPS combo and ventilation
  • 15 L AutoPots and a 45 L reservoir

Details:
  • the tent is a HomeBox Ambient 1,2 x 1,2 m
  • 6" Vents exhaust with thermo controller
  • MH bulbs are SunMaster Cool Deluxe 600 W, HPS will be Osram/Philips GreenPower 600W + one TCL rig (BTL Starlite) for seedlings (2x55 W, 9200 K)
  • whole BioTabs line up and the soil is amended with GuanoKalong powder and dolomite lime
Strains:
  • 4 x Mephisto Genetics - Sour Alien Livers
  • 2 x Dutch Passion - Glueberry OG
  • 1 x Dutch Passion - Think Different

Before I describe the germination process, it's time to call on some friends and grobros :smokeout::

GERMINATION:

I've put the seeds in a shot glass of tap water, without a heating mat this time as the average temperatures have risen and the temps in the room were around 23°C, which is OK by me.

After a day the seed sank to the bottom and after 2 days in the water the seeds sprouted a little tap root which tells me that they are ready for a starter plug .

Last grow I concluded that I've transplanted the seedling a little bit too soon and this time I wanted some kind of nursery pot to keep them 10-15 days in it to get them well established and transplant then. What I came up with (and @Vapo69 too) are biodegradable 0.2 L cups which are a perfect place for some substrate and a starter plug:

Took some Guanokalong soil and mixed it with perlite in a ratio of 70/30 and added Startrex and Mycotrex to that, which I think is more than enough for seedlings (the Silicium Flash in the pic was for the coco mix - didn't add any in the soil for now as it is already a light mix):

Once everything was mixed thoroughly I filled the cups with the mix and put a starter plug on top, soaked everything and put the seeds (taproot down, around 5-6mm) in the plugs:

That's about it for the introduction post, the plants are on day 23-24 and I'll try to catch up with the updates.
More to come soon, wishing you a great weekend :vibes:.

good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:

Unfortunately the White Chem didn't last long, I was really excited about her. Showed her cotyledons and nothing after that, took her 20 days to show "signs" of first true leaves, so I ditched her . Everything else is more than OK, mind you .

Nice I will grab a seat

Glad to have you mate .

Sweet bud!! Wow thats quite a haul of nutes!

Compostable pots - Some guys have complained that the compostable pots don't break down quick enough and that fragile canna roots have a hard time penetrating through the walls of the pots. Take a knife and score the sides and bottoms of the pots before planting to help ease the root penetration.

Good luck on your grow bud!! Hope you kick ass!

Nice dude!

What a cool set up and variety of strains as usual. Sure to be another awesome grow buddy.

Good choice with the air domes mate. I think they definitely help. My photos haven't had a single dry period yet with no signs of any issues. Which reminds me, I need to get some more domes for my new autopots fairly quickly! Haha.

Do you think you could, for me and all the Biotabs curious out there, give details of your soil mix with amounts of each amendment added please mate?

Man I can't wait to see you grow out those Meph Sour Alien Livers! Livers/Blues and the Alien have to be two of my all time favourites.

Good luck mate, interested to see what difference the soil makes.
