New Grower biobizz light mix and extra perlite

Hi. Does anyone use biobizz light mix? I have read that although it already contains some perlite some people add extra. What are peoples thoughts on this? If anyone adds extra how much extra do you add?

I use Plagron light mix which is very similar to the Biobizz light mix (I have seen and handled them both at my local grow shop) both in texture and consistancy. I add a 5l bag of perlite to a 50l bag of compost.

Thanks for the reply mikeyb. I have a tendency to over water so I thought adding a bit more might make the soil drain a bit faster. May I ask why you add extra? You said you have seen both biobizz and plagron soils. Any reason to choose one over the other?

Yes, I was worried about roots sitting in soggy soil mix too if I overwatered and it was recommended by the grow shop. So I have always done it since, also I like light fluffy compost which doesn't get compacted too much. Reason for Plagron as opposed to Bio-Bizz, pure and simple Price! Also I used Plagron nutes on my first grow and so have stuck with it while going to Bio-Bizz nutes.
