I'm dealing with them bastards right now, what I'm trying is as follows get some paper plates and cut slits down the middle, with a cut out in the center for the stalk and smeared Vaseline all over the underside of the plate. They make a product called Tangle foot you can use for this, but I thought I'd try what I have. Hopefully when those suns of bitches try to fly out they will get stuck :ama:

Literally i only see 2-4 flying around, i see zero activity at soil level, can somebody clarify what dunks are? Im still a noob, but im always trying to learn. I was lucky enough the first run to have no pests. I didnt have any pests this go until i started using molassas

dunks = BTI bacillus thuriengensis israelensis

bti bacteria attack the gut of mosquito larvae and the like. i'd always heard it's generally harmless but now there are BTI strains for caterpillars and stuff. i've also heard that BTI will kill dragonfly larvae :/

the mosquito dunks work on gnats, i don't know if the strains developed for gnats (eg. gnatrol) work much better. you can buy it as granules or preformed pellets. i put some in my watering can and let my water sit.. other ppl sprinkle it on top of the soil or in the mix. prolly run you $10-$20 to pick up some.

I hate those f###ing gnats....has an infestation with my "new bag" of soil...before I knew it, they'd ruined several fresh germs/seedlings...fly strips became covered with the little bastards and many simply drowned themselves in kool aid....finally began using raid flying insect killler every time I saw a couple flying around...after a few days, seems I've killed off the new hatches and anything that will lay an egg...all this in veg...no flowering plants involved....
