So I finally got me seeds in, and I've been doing some research and reading that some people pre-wet the soil a couple of days before putting the seed in it.. Is this recommended?

i do when i can... when i cant 10 or 15 minutes minimum... but i use promix which comes fairly dry... you want it moist... but not soaked... you wanna keep it moist / damp... not too wet cuz that can make em rot... a couple days is fine... but an hour or so is fine too really... its really just about making sure the seeds get moisture for germ

Yep, I would recommend that as well.

Indeed. I normally water my soil right before I plant them. Never had any probs with it. But I Wait until all water stops draining out the bottom.

ok thanks for the input, i will soon post a thread following my grow.. I am really new to the actual growing part but I've done research for many years and finally financially able to get it going so I hope I get more positive input and suggestions to help me succeed.

Yes that is highly recommended. A seed won't take kindly to dry soil. Its best to germinate outside of the pot you don't have to though but it ensures your seed is viable. Even though you paid there is a chance you get a dud. That way you won't wait for something to sprout. Germinate then plant.

I germinate in soil in the container that they will live in their entire lives. I have had a 100% germ rate so far (only 10).
One of the most important things that I learned was not to over water. Seedling soil just needs to be moist, if it looks dry after a day or so I would mist the top layer. Let time do the rest, I killed two plants in the beginning by me being over anxious and watering to much. Once the seeds germinate let the soil dry out before you water again. I stick my finger into the soil down to the second knuckle if it's moist I wait, if it's dry I water. Good luck bro, you're In the right place. The people here are very cool and very helpful.
Peace and welcome to AFN
