Hello,
this is my ongoing grow of 2 DutchPassion strains in my guerrilla spot this summer.
The spot is populated by DutchPassion's and Stitch's strains, but this thread is focused only on DP genetics.

I'm growing 2 strains, the ThinkDifferent and the AutoXtreme, total 6 plants transplanted OD straight in soil after 2,5 weeks indoor under 150W cfl and too much heat(around and ovet 30°C).

Far from ideal growing, but best I could do.

Here's how things looked like at transplant day.

Then they stretched like hell, the reason was adaptation to different light regime, indoor was 17/7 but OD they got only max 6 hours daily of straight sunlight + light thru tree's canopy. So they sadly did develop almost no branches.

Now they look like this @day 85:

The ThinkDifferent is the most yellow one, all look like they need a week or two to finish, if weather will do its part.

Thing is I need advice by you, DP connoisseurs, on chop time.
It's gonna be my first auto-harvest, so I'm a little nervous, don't want to do anything wrong.

Oh yeah, got a sample of the TD for late evening, super-fast drying, just to taste her a bit:)

:pass:

Hey guys'n'gals!

The leaves of most ladies are still green, but slowly fading.
Checked the trichs and some are amber but still some clear. I gave them a little feeding today, and next week is surely a good week to chop.

What do you think??

:peace:

Sorry about the sting bal, but I had ta slap ya!!! Nice and blingy!!!

Hi Balarama
nice "Kindergarten", i think they are now out of school :brow: .

have nice smoke and enjoy your ladies

cu tobe

nice frosty looking buds Bal, they look good enough to chop to me. But, and I always seem to say this so feel free to ignore me, another 1-2 weeks of sun would also perhaps allow a tiny bit more bud swelling. Enjoy!

Always nice to see a good outdoor grow you have some chunky girls there. Like your little spot. Enjoy your smoke!Hop digity

Harvested!

Hey there!

The kindergarten is closed now, the girls have been chopped at day 99 of their lives.
Here is a picture of the garden just before closing:

As can be seen, the front TD is all yellow with dead leaves while the others had still green leaves, well due to weather issues I decided the time has come.
Now they're drying on a dry rack, protected by a gardener fabric which lets the moisture out(pictured lower in the post).

Took some shakey photos with my phone, sorry for bad quality, they were made just for documenting purposes.

Here's an AutoXtreme top cola, from the second highest plant on right of garden photo(highest-bended is the "small" SuperCaliHaze).

And the Think Different top cola ready for inspection

I had a weird feeling about the harvest, maybe would be better if I picked them a week before, because after some inspection I found mold in the TD's colas mostly. Found some also in the AX's but much less.
After cleaning the molded bits the remaining nugs were put on an improvised dryer.

AX nugs on the left, TD on the right.

On the picture is what's left of the 6 autos, I lost to mold around 5-10% of the AX and 15-25% of the TD, which is a shame. The late rains ruined it, sadly.
I have really no idea on the yield, maybe there will be somewhere around 50-100grams total which is around 10-15 grams per plant. It's waaaay less than I expected(30-40g/plant) if I'm sincere.

The smells were really nice at harvest, I particularly like the TD's heavy fuel/rubber/mint smell, reminds me of last year's Himalaya Gold.
The AX are a bit milder but very nice, more fruity than TD, also I like more the bud structure. Not so dense and more resistant to mold.

Verdict?

Well that's the real world, I mean that's the outdoors:)

This grow encountered many problems, first the high temps in the veg-room than high temps OD. On many days they went up to 35°C+.
I also may stunted them much when transplanted, but in my observation I think these strains have a too short veg time to be really successfully transplanted(maybe better a soon than late transplant).
Also the conditions were not ideal, at first(indoor) they had 17hrs of light, after transplant the light hours dropped to 5-6 hrs of direct sun and 10hrs of shadow/thru surrounding canopies.
The plants stretched the stems and produced nearly no branches or big leaves except for the biggest AX, which strangely had the shortest light exposition. Go figure.

I guess the combined factors resulted in a poor yield, I'm still a bit uneasy about that.

But hey, it's been a learning experience after all, so thumbs up:thumbs:

Would I grow them again?
Well, I may, but only in better conditions and probably just the AutoXtreme.
But if someday I get a tent* and some leds, well, then the answer is "yesss".

*it all makes me think these strains were made to deliver indoors with no transplant.

I will do a smoke report in some weeks, they have to dry first and at least a week of cure will help the taste and flavor to develop.

Cheers guys

Let me know if there's an issue with viewing the pics.

Maybe now it will work:
