Hi everyone,

Thought I would join this great community and start a simple grow diary for my first grow. I'm hoping updating these posts will keep me focused and hopefully I'll pick up some awesome tips and tricks.

Right so my friend (who I think lurks on here?) very kindly lent me his simple DIY grow box set up, it's made from medium sized PC cabinet lined with mylar with the usual inline fan and carbon filter. I know I shouldn't but purely due to space the carbon filter is reverse mounted and sitting on top of the cabinet.

Inside I am running one 125W 6400K blue vegging CFL, I'm aware this ain't the most powerful out there but the plants seem healthy so far. The seeds are growing in 2.5L pots with this soil http://www.plant-magic.co.uk/products/supreme.html

The temperature of the box usually just hovers around 23-28 degrees Celsius and the humidity normally stays at around 55%. I am not currently feeding them nutrients due to the soil but will start feeding them this organic bloom from here http://www.plant-magic.co.uk/products/oldtimer.html

So far the plants are now entering their 3rd week where I hear they will really start to shoot up so looking forward to that. Any how, I'll get some pictures uploaded so you guys can check them out!

Feel free to let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, this is the first thing I have ever grown (legal or illegal) so I'm kind of just winging it haha.

Cheers!

Nice looking plants...looking good....ya mix doesn't appear to have perlite mixed in...hope ya don't have soil compaction...not familiar with plant magic stuff....but so far they look good....

Thanks dude, I actually just had to google that (noob). The soil mix says it contains Fytocell which they use as an alternative to Perlite, its just hard to see any on the pics for some reason.

Couldn't really speak on the positives or negatives of either but it seems to be working well, perfect for first time grower.

Update

Hey,

Sorry for late updates, been a bit hectic.

I'll start with a few pictures taken after the last updates, this is around week 2 to roughly the middle of week 3 with the 125w CFL vegging light still in.

I had intended to get the flowering light in a little sooner but a broken light and a delivery mishap delayed it for a few days but I don't think there where any ill effects.

At this point I had still not fed them any nutrients due to loaded soil (awesome stuff!).

More updates to follow!
