Hello chaps!!
I am a longtime photo grower who's thinking of transitioning into the world of autos (after a very disappointing first run quite a few years ago), I understand autos have come a long way since the days of the lowryder but I sitll have some doubts about their stability when it comes to growing from seed. After extensive research I am very interested in growing some Mephisto strains seeing the amazing reviews they are getting.

My main issues are knowing when my ladies will flower, according to mephisto running a DWC setup (as i do) will probably add 2 weeks to the grow compared to soil, a lot having to do with roots stressing due to lack of space signalling the plant to flower. So those 70-80 days from sprout guidelines are very much pointless from what I am seeing. My main concern is if I run several plants in an RDWC, same strain, same conditions are they gonna be ripe at the same time (regardless if it is 65 days or 100 plus days) showing that genetics are stable or otherwise could I have some plant finishing very early and another one very late showing great disparity in phenos??
Any growers out there with experience in auto SOGs that could elucidate me on this??

You won't really be able to SOG autos because they lack genetic uniformity. I'm growing 9 autos at the moment in the same environment, 3 strains, with various differences in growth.

It's a toss up between genetics and environment though I believe Mephisto has some 'SOG' strains though. I can't say how much uniformity you're going to get from breeder to breeder or seed to seed.

Hi @automaticFlo I also grow in DWC and a SoG is definitely possible,I'm doin another run of Blueberry by Dope-Seeds and they are suitable candidates for a SoG they are uniform in growth and don't respond well to training because of their chunkiness. I topped 2 I have in DWC and they bushed right up like twins, I have another in Coco at same age growin au natural and topping suits them better. I've been looking at a SoG myself for a while and so far this Blueberry is the one. Good luck :pass:

cheers for the replies guys,

rereading my post I see its a bit unclear. I don't actually SOG myself, I SCROG at most or do some LST, but thought that since most banks quote the SOG yield there must be some auto SOG growers out there for whom uniformity will be a key issue. As i was saying I am not much concerned about different sizes as I have enough space for each plant to grow as much or as little as she wants without hampering her neighbours. I am just concerned about several plants of the same strains having a very different finish time.
