Grow Mediums Autopot User new to the forum / Diary

Hello All,
I just signed up particularly for the autopot section as i have used the system on and off for around 3 years, i had been lurking beforehand though watching a few grows and its defiently the most active autopot forum i have came across which is good!

I am currently doing a autopot grow and will get some pics up shortly..its going well.
I wanted to ask some of you guys some questions and your experiences,

Has anybody here used Rockwool Croutons with the system? Do you think it would work with AP?
Has anybody used hydro nutes with the system?
Has anybody tried using a water pump in their Res?
Whats with the res smelling after a few days?

I currently have a 6 pot system (using 5 with res due to misplacing valve float ),coco with clay pebbles at the bottom. Adv Nutrients Sensi Coco formula,Big Bud and overdrive i used carboload for 1 week but seems messy with the AP system and had to clean out the trays to avoid blockages. 3 of my plants are handfed in normal 15l pots

Strains - 4 Sunset Sherbet, 3 Strawberry Crusha, 1 Dreamweaver , 1 Predator (All clones)

Good luck bro im sure you'll be satisfied! i have had some hit and misses with the system myself, my biggest total yield has been about 34oz which i hope to beat now i have my environment tuned in a little better but still some work to do. say no to GNATS lol pesky buggers have crippled a few off my grows in the past!

yeah i thought so, dose not seem to be affecting my baby's but only in week 3 flower, and the sherbet is from a friends mother from seed i believe Good Pheno too! phat colas and nice end smoke.

Has anybody used hydro nutes with the system? Not sure what you mean by hyrdo nutes. Are nutes just nutes? I will say this, I found carbload is not good to put your res. It creates a bubble sludge in the trays and will clog the autopot lines. Overdrive is OK. Also you might want to add Drip Clean to the res feeds.

Has anybody tried using a water pump in their Res? I have and found it moved the ph around too much. I now use an aquarium recirculator pump turned on a timer for two 15 mins per day.

Whats with the res smelling after a few days? Not unusual. But that carboload might make things more rank.

about 5 weeks. i only just seen your sig LEMON ZKITTLES!!! omg i brought a seed a few weeks back popped it and forgot about it and the seedling dried out before i could pot it gonna read through your diary now just saw some end pics how did you find the end smoke and yield? im jealous

Ok dont you think would clay pebbles not help the wicking? i might have to try top feed then for next grow as a trial

i agree with carboload and foolishly used it again for a week and JUST found 1 of my pot valves blocked but its all good now, been hearing about this drip clean whats it about?

was my first run with organics so it didnt go perfect first plants are drying a week now probly another to go till il try some but a great strain smells great another grower on here got a better return on his run you can find his thread in the dutch passion section

ahh thats unfortunate man, yh the original zkittlez was around for a little bit round my way:smoking:im going to get some more seeds for my next run its looks pretty damn fire
