Hello guys. I have a problem. Maybe anyone has any idea what can i do.
I'm using autopot watering system. Water in the tank has PH 5.8 when the water comes to the flower bottom tray it has PH 7 to 7.5 and that's to much. I'm still waiting for device for mesuring PH nex to to roots but i'm afraid it will be still to high. Do you maybe know how can I lower it? Or even prevent this difference in PH.

Thankyou.

First of all :welcome: to AFN Farmer

  • Did you clean the trays or tubing with something?
  • When you measure the pH in the tray, is there a plant in it? I mean, does it have contact with the liquid? And how deep is your pH probe in the liquid. On most probes there's two small lines. One you can't go over so you don't drown you probe and one you have to cross so the glass tube is completely submerged.
  • Did you also measure the pH in the tank while or just after you measured the tray?
  • I find it's always best to make your solution a day before you need it. Aerating it over night. The next day readjust the pH and then you hardly have to do anything to it. I always aerate my nutrient solution. This keeps the liquid in motion and maximizes oxygen uptake

Hey, thank you for your answer.
It wasn't cleaned much except with clean water is it possible that this mixup so much? But it was a while ago. The watering system is now established for 3 weeks.
Yes the plant pot is in the tray when i mesure and i also always check the tank water PH before and after. And it's frustrating me where does the difference comes from. The PH probe only has one line so i don't think thats the problem :( i'm always puting it in alittle below the line so i don't drown it.
Do you think i should put all the water out clean the tank and the tray and start again?

you know your lids on the pot modules are you leaving them off by any chance

Do you think that there could be any reaction on anythink because of the lids?
They are closed always except when i'm mesuring the PH

No I had massive problems when I first starting using them as I was worried about them getting blocked so I used to leave them off so that was my lockout problem but if your leaving them on you should be good as I never check my ph like you do on them anymore I never felt the need
