Hey Everyone,

As mentioned in previous posts this is my AutoMazar on day 27 of grow. Big fan of the Dutch Passion brand and I am very excited to see how she turns out after so many positive mentions of the strain on AFN!

Parameters are as follows:

Tent Location:
Cold Cellar

Tent Temp = 21 degrees
Tent Humidity - 53%

My Equipment is as Follows:
Apollo 8 LED Light
5 Gallon pot
Pro-Mix Organic Soil
4x2 Grow Tent
4-inch inline fan with Carbon Filter, and adjustable speed dial (to keep the smell out :p)
6-inch Fan
x1 100w CFL for side lighting
4 Stage RO/DI water filtration system for the best RO water
20 Gallon water reservoir
Ultrasonic Humidifier (not currently using it but plan to over winter)

Nutrients:
Through Veg - Cal/Mag Booster and Sensigrow Part A and B
Through Flower - Cal/Mag Booster and Sensibloom Part A and B,and Big Bud

001.jpg002.jpg

Height is about 24". She suffered a Cal/Mag deficiency early in grow but has since been corrected and appears to be happy. Going to continue giving her veg nutrients through this week, flush her with just water next week and proceed to flowering nutrients the following week if all goes to plan

Question: For anyone who has experience with this strain; I know it is a general rule of thumb that auto's don't respond well to trimming and to rather stick with tucking leaves but this Mazar has some FAT leaves! How would she respond to a trim?

I will keep you guys updated on progress "AFN smoke out"

Thanks,

Goose

Welcome to AFN and you are doing an amazing job, those ladies look really happy and healthy. The leaves are the generators for growth for the plant so trimming the main fan leaves is generally not a good idea. I have tried different times with photos and every budsite that I ever trimmed the shade or fan leaves of were always smaller than the others that were not trimmed. Stick with the tuck and bend method, you might even want to think about a full out LST and bend her over to get max light exposure. I have not grow the AutoMazar but have seen amazing things here on AFN about the strain and I do intend on growin it at some point for sure.

I just looked back at the pictures and I think this lady woud respond very well to an LST job. Just take some string and bend her all the way over slowly without breaking the stalk(put the string as far up the main stem as possible to give you the most stretching ability) then get a thumbtack and pin it into the side of the bucket, this will allow all parts of the plant to get even and maximum lumen exposure.

There are many threads here on LSTing and it is a method that I have used for over a decade. I is a way to increase yield without stressing the plant in any way. Hence the name Low Stress Training, it is perfect for autos for sure. If you need any help don't hesitate to shoot me a pm. LSTing is one of my areas of expertise( I use that term very very loosly lol) and have been doing it for a long time with great results. It looks like your ladies are going to be big and they wil probably need some sort of support toward the end of flowering any way, so you might as well go ahead and start training them now. I am subbed in for this one for sure and look forward to watching em grow. Sending good grow Karma your way friend

I'd spend a few minutes and tuck, tuck, tuck. you can get the desired affect by tucking. The only thing with thinning her out with scissors, is it will set her back a week or two, or could stunt her. I have seen and heard of people cutting on DP genetics and being fine, but it is really up to you and your desired goal. If thinning her out is your plan, do it. But IF it were me, I would just tuck away!

Thanks for the advice guys I will most definitely start some LSTing and will let you know if I have any questions along the way! :Sharing One:

God this strain gotta be delightful!

Feeling jealousy! [emoji33]

Ill be sending amazing growth karma to you!

Hey bro nice auto mazar you have going they grow huge. I have a question for you. What height did you have you light at in the first 20 days? And what height are you at right now? thank you they will use allot of cal mag from what i have been reading on LEDS. I am running a couple of apollo 6 bank lights same as yours but of course a little smaller

Hey Fairly,

For the first 20 days the light was about 2ft from top of soil. As they would grow I would wait for them to get within about 10" of the light then I would move the light up by about 4 inches and repeat the process. The adjustable ratchet hangers help a lot.
