Autoflowers are not cute, straightforward little sisters of term/photo plants. Their biggest advantage is their short lifestyle. Its also lends to their biggest disadvantage.
Stress time - Recovery time - lifetime

And its a give and take.

Fimming and topping work but you shouldnt do it because the recovery time from the stress is never worth it.
LST works cause there is so little stress and recovery time can be hours not days.
What about Supercropping? I had to bend over 2 stems this morning because they were burning themselves to death trying to stretch up to the warm hps light (last time it created 7 new vertical stems. I woulda had 2 burnt stems instead of 7 healthy ones. I dont know the stress level or the recovery)
What about popcorn? I cleaned out the undergrowth of the last crop that included small but viable growing tips/buds. I know it stressed her out but did I free up growth for the koalas up top or was the pain too much for her (and I know it musta hurt). But is her life too short to clean and cut the undergrowth?
:peace:
Any answers?

Anything else youve come across about auto limitations?

trimming undergrowth

I have always trimmed some of the bottom leaves and popcorn buds from all my autos and havn't seen any bad effects. The leaves that don't get any light are of little use to the plant so I only remove them, and the little shit buds don't amount to much anyway.:D:D:peace:

I agree but I dont know if its stressful. But I do it, too.

I see a definite ADVANTAGE to autos....KNOWN lifespans..easier to schedule..less guessing, smaller footprints, just as potent (according to strain), and MY list goes on and on...+ my autos ARE cute. I do nothing to mine except feed'em when they chirp....except for a lil lst on stretchy phenos...I like my popcorn buds...they ALL go into a popcorn jar so ya never know what ya gonna get...
