Hello ladies n gentz

Looking for some good grow book recommendations that mainly talk about autoflowers. I'm feeling in a learning mood and very interested in coco specifically... soil recommendations are welcome.

Pdfs preferably.

Cheers

Use the forum, there's loads of guides etc around, start reading the Coco section and ask questions :)

I have read most the guides. Im already quite experienced with soil. But i prefer to actually read books.

So many people contridict each other because its their own experience and people do and recommend different procedures.

I'm interested in reading actual books. Well thought out stuff with some science behind it also.

Most shit we read here is bro-science

Farming is Bro-science long before the science of farming came along. Science leads the way in Ag nowadays.

There are many styles of growing that work so yes there can be conflicting Ideas that both work in context.

Then there are those that speak of what they do not know.

Coco is a form of hydroponics and all hydroponics rules apply. Then you simply add a small amount of calcium, magnesium and iron to account for the IONs trapped by the coco.

If you have read what is here then jump in and get your feet wet - well I suppose if your feet are wet you have a leak .

I don't know of any books that I would recommend for Autoflowering Plants. From my experience and watching many grows here, they are only a bit smaller with very different nutrient needs than Photoperiod plants. The rest of the environmental needs are essentially the same.

:goodluck:

They're wet for sure. I like to study always. So was interested in studying more. Every day is a learning day and looking to come across some interesting information.

Thanks for your input

DIY Autoflowering Cannabis: An Easy Way to Grow Your Own (Homegrown City Life, 7)

I have that book. Some good info regarding autoflowering cannabis especially for newbie growers like myself. I did get a bit tired of the author repeatedly comparing autoflowers to tomato growing and how easy it is. I’m on my 4th grow and so far and I’m finding that it is not that easy. I’ve grown plenty of tomatoes over the years and they are way easier than autoflowers. I have received more growing information (education) from more knowledgeable growers here on AFN than any book. Just sayin’.

+1 on AFN being the best bet for information on growing autoflowers. Plus, if you are into coco, take a look at Cocoforcannabis.com.

Ive learned most of wot i know here, and from youtube and i am grateful for this forum and its nice to be around likeminded people. But, a lot of the guides here are years old and things change dramatically in terms of growing such as new nutrients, new mediums, new pots, new led technology, and new methods. So i like to find fresh info and guides just to see what new things I can pick up on

If you are looking for the most recent information on autoflowers, the last thing you want to do is look for a book. Even if published today, the information in there is likely a couple years out of date or worse due to the publishing process. Just for example, you will find nothing in any book about the use of the new two part MegaCrop on autoflowers. By far the best existing information on that is the thread on the topic put together by @Mañ'O'Green. Whatever book you find, you need to assume that new information stopped being added a couple years before publication.

This issue has been a big one in my checking books on cannabis cultivation. Everything I have located to date is too focused on photoperiod plants, too incomplete and generalized regarding nutrients, media etc., and of course too outdated given the changes in this activity in recent years. There are lots of books with pretty pictures and generalized cultivation suggestions, but none that I am aware of (and I would love to be corrected) that have up to date scientifically examined information specifically on cultivation of autoflowers.

If up to date information on autoflower cultivation is what you are after, you will get more of it here than any book that I have come across, and more than the great majority of other online sources. What isn't originally posted here will often be linked so you can find it elsewhere - good examples being youtube videos by Drs. Bruce Bugbee and Harley Smith, and for coco cultivation, Cocoforcannabis.com. The latter website also has some of the best information on grow lighting and irrigation that I have found.

All just my 2 cents of course. Good luck with it. :pighug:
