I haven't seen a running thread discussing auto flower strains/phenotypes--aroma.

As we know the aroma is a result of terpenes and probably other genetic aspects. Many enjoy certain aromatics and others use them as a medicinal strain choice.

We can always use the breeders description; however, better information comes from those AFN'ers who have grown the strain(s).

____________________________________________________________________

To kick it off, I am looking for three vary dominate scents. Of course, there is always a mix of aromas, but, we will be looking for the overriding one. Just trying to pinpoint dominate aromas.

I am adding a description to the scent below for what I am after in an auto.

1. Strain with -- Spicy Pepper aroma
2. " " -- Explosive powerful lemon scent
3. " " -- Bouquet of flowers aroma

Open discussion for all. Ask and lets see if members can help.

I would say Think Different has a very powerful lemon scent to her.

I didn't find my Think Different pheno very lemony. I grew a TD and a Big Devil 2, and i crossed them both with Auto Kush... and grew about 20 offspring of each cross. The AutoKush (bred from hindu MasterKush) smell is stronger or genetically dominant, the offspring smell stronger of kush than the other parent. So here is the result:

TDxAK= Mostly Kush Smell, in HPS got extremely smelly and rancid, made me think of sickly sweet Rot, when a house has had mouse poison, except fruity!... so i describe it as a 3 week old mouldy bowl of fruit salad with Rhum in it.

The Big Devil 2 was more lemony. and it's offspring were more lemony, that said i had one pot of them that smelled abit like mouldy mouse, very potent, and i dunno if that is TD or BD hybrid.

The AutoKush is a weird smell, for 1-2 grows i loved it and then i was after something else. it's like rosewater made of thc.

check THIS out :)

Nice crosses hedg, but he said he's not looking for breeders discriptions he wants to hear from the growers and what they have experienced, my wipout express smelled like pine apple but now that its been curing for a while it have a very crazy floral smell and taste. Not sure if that's what your looking for smitho. I'm going to grow a emeraled triangle lemon haze soon ill let you know how that goes. Lemon og crossed in and 23% thc I'm thinking it will be a strong lemon smell but we will see.

In school we did an experiment with some oils which are the same product used to flavour sweeties and drinks with fruity aromas ... it's called Esters. it's very easy to make and it's same as sweets that smell of pineapple, banana, orange, strawberries, etc... that's what i thought was in cannabis :D

here is a list:

don't know which of the esters are smokeable :)

Cheers for the responses.

Started this thread a few months ago--and now, wonder what I was getting at.

The peppery/spicy and flowery aromas are often found in sativas and hybrids.

Thanks for the link--hedgeraider.

Per the lemon found two merchandized (so to speak) as big time lemon. The 60 day wonder (a lemon skunk) and a lemon/pine auto from HSC. Planted and will report. Enjoy lemon scent above all--and pleasantly surprised to have found a moderately lemon recently = Black Dragon cross.

So many of the autos being Indica dominate = fruity. Now, after having harvested a few pepper and flowery strain--beleive it or not yearning for a good old fruity Indica--lol.
