Ok due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to disassemble my tent setup for a whole day. Had my plant tucked away and everything. It is my last photo grow before popping my auto's and making the switch. So as many would guess my girl is not very happy right now, droopy and is shooting out pistils already :( I'm worried about her turning hermie in an effort of self preservation.

So my question is, when I start growing autos since they aren't light sensitive for flowering, do they handle lack of light stress better than a photo and just keep chugging along due to its timed life cycle. and would they also be prone to hermy after such an unfortunate abrupt change to the grow cycle?

thanks!

There shouldn't be any problems with fully auto strains and light problems.

Maybe if you were trying to confuse it and change the light schedule over and over again but I don't think that would even matter.

Light leaks do not matter, you can go ahead and check the plants during lights out whenever you want.

As far as your current photo plant, if it was only a 1 day mishap itll be fine regardless of if it was to much light or to much dark.. to light stress a photo plant to herm there needs to be consistent light problems for at least a few days like a light leak.

Did it get damaged or anything or just put away for a day?

it did not get damaged, but sat in a cardboard box in the garage that is not temp controlled at all temps in garage were probably around 100 which is pretty hot and really humid in there.

I look forward to growing autos. I just switched her to 12/12 let her finish as fast as possible so I can get switched to autos in that tent.

hmm im not sure 12/12 ing an auto will make it finish faster  i had a light fail and 3 plants at week 2,5,8 sat in a dark cupboard for 2 days not an issue  have had a few random power cuts to :coffee:
good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:

^ to my understanding photo is put to 12/12 so autos can replace it when done. How long has it been in veg? I'm in box and bag hiding myself, too. Noticed pistils in photo (yay a girl) when I put her to box. But been in veg month+. Constant dark no stress to photoperiod, high temp and humidity yes.

It’s a photo I switched to 12/12 not an auto. Lol I’m new to autos but I understand the basics of ruderalis. She’s been vegging for a few weeks now, but after the stress she started throwing pistils so figured just throw on the 12/12 and finish her fast as possible.

Eyes open, the stress then flower would concern me. I'd have given her a couple weeks of recovery time before flipping, but your there now...how stable is the strain? I've had strains that just wouldn't herm, and others that'd herm if you thought bad things in the other room....

Lol think bad things in the other room the strain is pretty stable from my experience with it. It’s a classic northern lights strain. But then again never really stressed my plants to this extent before ever, I have pics of her in the growroom thread that I’ve been updating periodically if anyone’s interested.

After the stress a couple days back in the tent her leaves are returning to normal and she put on some good new growth and is starting to smell that amazing smell. So now only thing is if she hermies or not if she does I’ll collect some pollen. So all is well
