Coffee Monster
Sole Survivor
BREEDER: Mephisto
STRAIN: Auto Blues
DID IT AUTOFLOWER?: Yes
SOIL/HYDRO: Soil based on a custom version of the "Lowe's Mix" in the forum
NUTES: Mix of Epsoma and Jobes liquid and granular organic nutes, Recharge, Botanicare Cal Mag and Silica, Alaska Kelp fert.
LIGHT (KIND AND SCHEDULE): Amare Pro 4 at 19/5
LENGTH OF TIME FROM SEED TO HARVEST: about 65 days give or take
DRY YIELD: 23g
RATING OVERALL: three and a half stars
BAG APPEAL: three stars, not the densest nugs but probably due to me not bein dialed in yet
THE GROWTH: three stars, grew well until she hit a mag deficiency that did not bother the other Mephisto strains alongside her to nearly the same degree. Make sure she has plenty of Cal Mag! (Note - this is under cob's so it might not need nearly as much under HPS or blurple.)
THE SMELL unrated - I've got diminished nasal abilities so I can just say it smells a little skunky to me and I would say this strain requires a moderate level of odor control during a grow
THE SMOKE: unrated - I'm basing my report off of edibles. I normally ingest about all my bud as firecrackers but I've developed a pretty good sense as to how to compare these to smoking or vaping.
HIGH/EECT/DURATION: four stars. Duration was about normal for me, maybe a little on the longer side. A "happy" stone, not quite to the extent of primo OG Kush for me, but still definitely uplifting. I would say about the same strength as your average top grade stuff, it delivers a solid stone that's neither too sativa nor too indica. Gives a warm fuzzy headed effect, not the scrambled brains I get from Trainwreck, but definitely not your A game for clear headed thinking.
CONCLUSION: Would I recommend this strain to others? Yes, as long as they know to keep an eye out for deficiencies. Will I run it again? Probably not, at least not until Mephisto has a new version out - refer to what Mitch says about Blues/Livers/bx's. I was a little tough on the Blues in this report but my tolerance is high and I expect a lot from Mephisto strains as they've raised the bar for autos.
