Ok, I'm a newbie at growing, so like most I read and researched before I did anything. My first grow was bag seed Mexican, learn to grow it right method is what I employed. I use CFL's mixed both 2700K and 5000K, depending on what stage they were in heavier with the one than the other. So for a first grow I think I did pretty good anywhere from a 1/2 to an ounce per plant after growing 4 plants out of 10. Male to female ratio was to high for my taste, but I got a grow.
So I decided to go with some Autoflowers after reading how long it takes to grow them and that they can do pretty good. I thought why not give these guys a try, so I bought Nirvana's Blue Mystic. I saw that they had problems and accepted the risk.
I got my seeds on 4-20-12 and set them to germ on sunday 4-22-12, to my surprize all 5 sprouted. So off we go, held back on feeding for 3 weeks, well went 3.5 before I put nutes to them. GH Floragrow, micro, bloom, add in some Diamond Nectar and Dynagrow Protek. By the way I'm doing this as DWC, in an 18 gal tote that I only fill with 15 gals. First feeding 1/4 strength so I don't burn them. I get to week 4 and they have doubled in size, I'm thinking pretty good so far. And a couple plants show sex "females" OKAY! Have upped the nutes to 1/2 strength still veg. Week 5 is upon us and I switch to Bloom nutes, more pistols on other plants and they have doubled in size again. Had to raise the lights 3 times in a week, Okay getting better. No real flower formations yet on any plant, but all are female and strong and healthy. Week 6 and I am at full strength on nutes and added Koolbloom to the mix. No flower action but lots of pistols where you expect to see them.
I got curious and went to Nirvana page and asked, "When can I expect them to flower? How long does it take to grow these, as they are 6.5 weeks old." Well no real answer of course but plenty of questions back, like what nutrients are you using, what is your light schedule, what method are you growing them with?
So sunday 6-10-12 I put them in my tent to flower under 12/12 of 572 watts of CFL's, by the way that's 22, 26watt bulbs. This evening I have one plant starting to bud.
