Aye Forum :toke:

I cut this plant down on friday, so a little over 3 days ago. Yesterday the buds still felt very damp and fluffy, but today they were completely different just sticky and crunchy on the outside. However, the stems are still bending and not snapping. temperatures are around 18C(65F) and humidity is pretty low at 40%.

I don't want to have them dry too long, but of course I don't want to risk to jar the too early and create mold or something. This is my first harvest.

I would take the buds off the stems and jar them even though the stems arn't dry. With that lo humidity the buds will dry to fast and that's not good The buds will rehydrate and soften after six or eight hours than you can take them out of the jar and spread them out for a few hour until they feel dry again then rejar the and do this every day until they feel dry but still give a little when you sgueeze them. After this you can leave them in the jar and just take the lid off and burp them for a couple hours. After a week or so they can be left in a closed jar for good but they will still be curing for a couple weeks and color will change to a darker green once the clorophil is gone. You can find more info in our harvesting and curing thread.

However, I noticed that the buds only got nice and fluffy again in the jars, not any kind of wet. So I decided that burping is probably enough and they don't need to be spread out again at all. What do you think?

If there real soft than spread them out but if they seem more dry but kinda soft than just jar and burp them. This is the way i do it but you will learn after doing it a few times.

I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but to make it easier on me this time I've also ordered boveda and they came in today. So I put them in the Jars just now. I'll keep and eye and burp for a few minutes everyday, but those should handle most of the work, right?

Good looks! I need some of those small humidity meters!

picked them up on ebay about 10 pounds for 5 your not gonna really need em as its my 1st go i just had them to make sure the boveda are working and as you can see there spot on just dont overdry ya buds till there bone dry though pal and good luck

Well I hope the drying out is exactly what's going to be prevented by those bovedas. My only fear is that I air dried them too long already, but since all of them got nice in fluffy again after resting in the jars for a bit I don't think so.
