ive grown a few autos in the past with little success.i grew them outdoors.the plants had great crystal coverage and an amazing smell, but totally lacked potency and the buds were very whispy and airy.i believe the plants were auto ak.i see a lot more autos coming out,but are any of them good for outdoor,im not into whispy buds or shit potency, but id love to give another try next season with a good auto.i hear paradise has a few nice ones, but getting grow reports on outdoor autos is very hard.
if anyone can tell of any good experiences with a good auto id love to hear it.

I have a pandora from paradise growing outside currently. It seems to like the outdoors and the buds are rock hard. I don't kno about potency though since I haven't finished it yet. And I haven't seen any reports on it. I hope its good. It should be finished in about a month.

No, we just all participate in this auto community for shits and giggles. Of course there are potent autos, just check the reviews in this section and you'll get a good idea. After that swing by the outdoor section and check out the grows there. Growing autos is not the same as photo plants, here's a link to the new growers section with lots of beginners info.

Stay safe and have fun.

While my indoor autos always seem to do a bit better than my outdoor ones, I've had some good success outdoors as well. Mi5 has done well for me outdoors. Check the albums in my profile for some pictures of an outdoor Mi5 grow I did a couple years ago. The auto AK is a good one and if it didn't do well for you, I'd be more inclined to question your soil mix, nutrients and skills, no offense intended. If you tell us a bit more of how you grew them we might be able to make some suggestions.

You might also want to look at super autos. They take a bit longer than dwarf strains but have been bred specifically for outdoor growing.

Dense buds outdoors means mold. If you want dense buds, they have to be grown inside in controlled humidity, and also they have to be watered directly at the soil, not get rained on.

So you said the AK was really frosty, but didn't get you high? Have you ever smoked a mostly sativa strain? They feel WAY different from a kush. You wouldn't be the first person i know to say they didnt get high from a sativa.

The difference is they get you really high but not stoned. A kush will get you really stoned but barely high. If you're used to smoking kush and switched to the AK, it may feel like it doesn't get you high because of lack of CBD and no body buzz. AK is a heady strain with barely any stone to it. You could smoke and smoke and smoke and barely get stoned, but you would get sooooo high.

My rule of thumb is if you can fit more than 20 grams in a quart jar, it is too dense for me to try to grow outside.

But i'm guessing your AK was potent, just a different kind of potent than you're used to.

i grew this Auto AK outdoors this season...it grew nice dense buds on her......but like mattinuk said...dense buds outdoors equals bud rot if your not careful!!...i've had 4 or 5 plants i have had to chop early because of bud rot starting...you have to keep a really close eye on them outdoors!..you also have to remember that they are autos...so they need as much direct sunlight as possible!!...this one had 12 to 14 hours direct sunlight...if it would have only gotten 8 to 10 hours...it would only have been half this size...it is very possible to get what your looking for bro....you just have to plan everything out well before you begin..:D...:smokebuds:

I think timing and environment have a lot to do with mold. I like to start autos in the late spring and put them out. I've had zero mold issues with dense autos outside, but plenty of mold on the photos that ran late into the season. The MI5 grow muddy was referring to was outdoors and started late, finished in November if i remember correctly. With autos you can start them on a schedule so they flower during the long daylight hours of summer solstice, makes a huge difference :D

I'm going to second muddy on that MI5, she's a easy, rewarding grow that will twist your head off with the right pheno. Mossy's jems or dragons are a good bet as well. Jems were bred outside for multiple generations and have great mold resistance. I've never had a spot of it on them, both inside and out.

well im fr from a newb, ive been growing outdoors for quite some time with tremendous success!its just the autos ive groiwn wee not too good, mind you these were from trades so theyt were all f2's and im sure that made aq big difference.the auto ak was not potent at all.i think im going to go with some of paradise autos, they seem to have the best reviews overall....oh and i do my homework, thats why i came here to ask my question!i see paradise has some new autos as well, auto acid and auto jack look very appealing to me!and the pandora and vertigo.
thanks for the replies guys, keep em comin.im not worries abiout mold cause i grow in a greenhouse in my backyard.

Not saying you're new to growing, just new to autos. It's' a whole different ball game with new rules, so you'd be doing yourself a favor by stopping by the new growers section. I find that growing in greenhouses has more of a tendency to cause mold from lack of airflow, unless you're well ventilated (see, a fan) I don't know about those strains you mentioned, but MI5 has a proven indoor and out track record.
