Looks like HLG has charts for pretty much every light they sell, other than this one. Anyone ever come across a chart for the XL on the interwebs? Or made their own? Really having trouble figuring out much to crank the dimmer on this light in my 2x4. TIA!

I can't find it. Not even on their wholesale site. You'll need a PAR meter for accuracy otherwise a guessing game

Hey thanks for taking a look for me! Yeah, I ended up reaching out to their customer service folks and apparently they don't provide charts for the DIY lights (for whatever reason). Any decent PAR meters out there for a reasonable amount of money?

Apogee SQ200 series will get you light in the 390-600nm range or the SQ510 cover 100-1000nm I believe. If you get the USB cable version it is around $250 but the handheld is around $350.

Lux meters suck unless you have the specific SPD for your light. Don't use a LUX meter, it looks for light in the visible range for humans whereas plants benefit from UVB to far red.

This guy's legit

I did see that video. I have the XL though which has a board on each end but nothing in the middle. Just trying to figure out how much light a plant right below the empty middle might be getting. I'll probably just try to rotate plant location every day so that everybody is getting pretty even rays. I am wondering whether the space in the middle might be pretty good for developing the outside of the canopy, since the center of the plant would be getting the least light...which is a little unusual. Thanks for chiming in!
