I have just spent the last half hour jerry rigging a cloner cos I'm getting a bit frustrated. I planted a couple of bag seed along with my first set of autos in May, the autos never germed in paper towels but the bag seed was off like a shot. I got some info and replacement seed from the guys at RQS and finally got the autos started, they are small, as they should be...... Outside in the hot sun as I type.

But, the two bag seed plants are getting out of hand. I tried to clone them but the clones seemed to die after a week or two so I stuck them in an old flower pot and forgot about them. Well, after a month or more a couple of them looked like life had returned so I brought them in and put them on 12/12. One male and one female, trouble is I don't know which is which, they are both huge and still no sign of sex from either.

I'm bubbling the water and have added 1ml of Plagron alga grow to the water. I also gave them a dip of cloning powder is there anything else I can do to help them along? I just want to get the male out so I have more space to spread the girl and get the height down a bit. Sorry it's not a great picture.

Phlem..

As far as germinating seeds I'm a first-time grower I've learned everything off YouTube this that and the other watching other Growers every seed and I mean every seed that I have grown that I have bought from seed banks has sprouted and groan search for the one THC bomb I killed like an idiot but that was my fault I used the crop Kings germination method to the T they have a YouTube video I don't know if that's what you do or if you would try it maybe but I promise you if you follow the directions on the video Everything Will sprout at least it has for me besides the one I killed dumbass calling myself a dumbass not you

Hi Gunnerboy,

Thanks for that but it is the very method (shot glass and papertowel) that my RQS seeds didn't like. I lost 7 good beans. Good old RQS sent me replacements, I was lucky. Now it's pHed, bubbled water in glass overnight then into a moist root riot block under a dome till the shoot shoots.

I think the shells were harder than those I've seen in the dim and distant; I'm sure they were. Still had to spray the seedy helmets off the babies. lol.

Phlem.

I start my seeds soaking before I go to bed in a shot glass using room temp bottled water. In the morning I tap them if there still floating. If they sink they have soaked up enough water to transfer to the paper towel. I think were a lot of people mess up is getting the paper towel too wet. If the towel is so wet it is dripping than it was too wet and will kill your seeds. I have seen just about every one I have ever gave seeds to that has tried this method to the same thing. I usually fold my seeds up in the paper towel, I actually use toilet paper and only soak about 1/2 of the paper before placing it in a zip lock bag. Setting them some were warm like on a plate on top of the hot water heater also helps if your water heater is in a dark place like mine. If your sprouting in cubes or cups than the hot water heater makes a good sub for a heating blanket.
