Ok you long time growers,
Now ive only been growing 4 years.
I have a plant that trichs are about 5% amber and yet the plant looks like it still has fattening up to
do with a shitload of white hairs growing all over.
My question- anyone seen this before.
And what to do, go till most hairs turn or take down soon.
I was thinking maybe 10 or 20% amber, she is a candy kush.
I know you'll always have some white hairs but this is almost like middle flowering time.
Hmmmm just curious.
Hoping she would fatten up more but i dont want a lot of amber.
Im thinking flush friday, just water for a week and chop next friday.
This is about my 15th grow and never saw one like this.
Has me a little stumped.
Im thinging i'll get 8 to 10 oz off her now.
She will be 90 days on the 15th.

I find amber trichs early too, especially on the sugar leafs.

I just wait out on the pistils going 80-100% orange to gauge ripeness.

I find trichomes can confuse into chopping early in some cases

imo fans have nothing to do with it. I always check the flower for ripeness and works every single time for me. 5% is fine if you get results ON the flowers in the heart of the bud. nowhere near a stalk or sunleaf. then check em. then its ripe. or 20 works the same way.fans will be a heavier med (ambered up)since as we all know you get early ripening on fans, since again early is where the fans present what they do(plants :D ).I have pics halfway through flower with amber on em LOL and this happens to me often too. so if I were ou bro,I would totally go with checking th flowers only. and for thickness thats a stain specific assuming conditions are decent, but you can also go by a simple visual look if your eyes are ok with a squeeze and a gaze at the Hazzze LOL and with 25% or more of amber ON the flower will look like its flat out amber central on some fans at times too. but flowers man, always flowers.

well..LOL thats my stoned take o it aywho. and honestly? i have absolutely ZERO i mean ziltch as to how many plants or grows I have under my belt man.I lost count a cpl years back or three LOL

@Eyes on Fire thanks dude.
Yep these were the flowers i checked.
Mid flower, a tiny leaf that sticks out a little from the buds.
Gonna flush friday and check throughout next week.
Never had one ripen with white hairs everywhere.some sure but not this much.
Well we'll see next week.
Maybe they'll dry by next week.
Live and learn eh !

@oldcoot I did a run of Dutch passion Blueberry and I harvested (had to not by choice) and I thought i lost half of my plant. It looked undeveloped and the lower half was. It had the white hairs just like you are describing. I just harvested the top end and tossed the white underdeveloped stuff. Most of my trichs were cloudy and clear. I harvested it put it in jars and it is way to strong you smoke it and within an hour or less I am snoozing. I have no idea because from the looks of it the plant was nowhere near totally done. In fact I am trying to trade someone some Sativa because the Blueberry is nothing but a sleeping pill in flower form.

@Ripped In Oregon , gotcha , whats getting me is the tops have literally lots of white hairs.
Ive come to the conclusion she is ready but i will flush friday and go from there.
Checking trichs every other day, i dont want more than about 20% amber.
Think that should be about right for kush, no !!!

here you go

It sure don't look ready to me but trichs are saying yeah.

how soft are the buds? certainly dont look ready unless its received some stress which can air out or separate the flower structure somewhat at times. the leaves look a little pissed.

@Eyes on Fire hmmm it was a pretty uneventable grow.
I think the leaves thing is because theyre about 9" from the lights.
I have my fan blowing between the lights and the tops to keep my temps down on the tops. Still about 85° though.
Best i could do, every top has been supercropped 3 times.
The buds are pretty nice i think.
Water temps are up some at 72 dwc.
Cabinet is jammed full.
Never ran into this before.
Let me see if i can get some pics tomorrow in white light.
Could it be heat stress causing this ?
They are new lights and i know theyre to close but even snapping the branches didnt stop them, hell didnt even slow them down .
I mean i know the light has been to close because of the cupping and upper leaves turning yellow but cant do anything about it .
Ive even been adding a frozen water bottle in my res.
