New Grower am i on track?? advice needed

I started germinating two bag seeds exactly 8 days ago. So its unknown photo strain.
Germd in paper towels, sealed in container kept in dark warm place.
Took them 4 days to sprout a 1/2 in. Tap root. From there I planted them into 32oz Styrofoam cups.
Soil mix is 40% jiffy seed starter mix, 25% all purpose pitting soil, and 35% mg perlite.
I placed a tad bit of great white mycorrhizae under the seeds in the soil.
I then watered them until I had run off.
They have been under two 26w 6500k cfls
One each, about 4 inches from plant.
Lights have been on 18/6 the past 4 days.
Today is day 8 from seed and I'm just wandering if they are on schedule or stunted in any way.

The stems are a purple color, leaves are a bright healthy green
1 1/2-2 inches tall, two true leaves on each
Then they have two smoothe rounded leaves on opposite side of true leaves.
They're about 1 in diameter from top view.

hey JB,
seems like you did your homework and that everything is fine. You cant really predict the growth pattern of an unknown strain but this could well be healthy plant. as jm said pics would be nice.

I'll try to get some pics uploaded. I just thought they'd have more than two leaves by now.

The more leaves they get, the faster they will grow. I do think that you will need more light. One 26 watt bulb per plant won't be enough.

Yea I am using the 26watts on them now, once they get a little bigger ill add more. Eventually they will be under 325 watts of t5ho, and cfls for supp. Lighting. I have (3) 26w 100w equal 6500k, and (4) 13w 75w equal 2700k.

Right now they just have the two true leaves and the two small rounded, smoothe leaves.

You'll see the growth accelerate once they get another couple sets of leaves. I'd hit them with more light soon. They will be big enough for it.

Update.

They have jumped up a half inch the past day and a half. Two more leaves coming from the middle, they're about 1/6 th the size of the other leaves though.


When and what nutrients should I be adding? My soil does not have Nutes, that I'm aware of.

I'll be adding 1 more 26w cfl to each. That will be roughly 200 watts per plant at that point.

What brand nutrients are you going to use? With no nutes in your soil I'd suggest hitting them with a very weak veg solution around day 12 - 15.

What nutrients would u suggest? This would be my first time feeding Nutes, mg liquid plant food is only thing available local, anything else would require ordering online or making a road trip.

They're have 4 true leaves now, not getting much taller but the width and overall diameter is improving for sure.
