Hi everyone I was just wondering if you have had this I am getting patches on my plant where there is all Amber trichs then other parts with cloudy and mixed. I actually noticed the spots were looking Amber with my naked eye there just all Amber? My plant is at week 8 starting today they look like they got allot of swelling to do yet so was wondering should I harvest before they all go Amber? It’s a green Ninga by heavyweight seeds photo I thought I would post here it’s my preferred forum. Any help would be great cheers.

There is not universal agreement that harvesting according to trichome color is accurate.

According to Dr. Paul G. Mahlberg, who actually sampled the contents of different places in real trichomes, thc in trichomes is maximum while they are still clear.
Amber trichome harvesters won't get maximum potency, but that might be their preference.

My own experience is that waiting for amber means waiting too long, and that the best time for me is when they are about 50% clear and 50% cloudy, with a possible hint of amber.
I've had some very weak bud after waiting too long for amber.

Personally I let all of my strains go full amber, I go weeks past breeders dates (it's just the medicine we prefer.) I've harvested buds from photoperiod plants that were revegged (wayyyyyyyy past harvest) and it was some of the most sleep-inducing stuff I've smoked.

That is a personal preference as well as what kind of high that you desire. I generally let my indica's get more amber trichomes (use for sleep) and my sativa (daytime use) no amber trichomes. I have not harvested a totally amber trichome plant.

pistols, hairs, trichs allways seems to be a bit of confussing over them.the colour of 2 can be seen with the nakid eye pistols/hairs are they the same thing  trichs can be seen with the nakid eye but not the colour.
when i check my plants in the cupboard there can be a hell of an ambers, take it outa the cupboard under not LED and they suddenly dissapear.thats with 60x mag.i like to cut early, but looks to be a couple of weeks left in yours.
good luck n keep er lit.
:pighug:

It’s really strange tho it’s like all the bud leaves have gone fully Amber but the hairs are still coming out white and the buds look like they are going to swell all the little pods that the hairs come out of are still small and the buds themselves are milky with a few ambers I dont want to chop before they bulk up?
