Currently California Lightworks are our best selling brand. Here are some of the reasons why we really like these grow lights, and more importantly, why our customers love these lights.
  • Designed and built in California. California Lightworks have been building their own LED grow lights for several years. They have a reputation for solid, reliable grow lights built from the best components, this reputation is fully deserved. We hardly ever see technical issues with these proven designs and we see lots of repeat buyers
  • California Lightworks are trusted by some of the biggest legal producers in the world. High production volumes make these lights affordable.
  • California Lightworks have created a full range of LED grow lights with various power levels for the small hobby grower and the serious professional producers
  • The grow lights can be daisy chained to each other (from 1 to 1000 lights per chain) and all controlled from a single hand held controller via standard RJ11 telephone cable (supplied). The controller is one of the unique reasons to love California Lightworks, it allows you to separately adjust the power levels of the red, blue and white LEDs on all the grow lights that are daisy chained together. This allows you to use a blue dominant spectrum for seedlings with gradually increased levels of red in bloom. You can also turn off red/blue completely, just leaving the white LEDs on, this makes for a convenient white light viewing mode for plant inspection.

SolarSystem 1100.
This has an 800W power draw on full power, and is effectively two of the SolarSystem 550’s combined into a single light which will easily outperform a Gavita 1000W HPS. This light is seriously powerful and should be kept a good distance above the canopy to prevent LED burn.
The product video is below and features Swell Farms of Arizona who replaced 20 x Gavita 1000W HPS units with 20x SolarSystem 1100 units, and don’t want to switch back to HPS. In the video you can see that all of the SolarSystem 1100 units are connected together and controlled by a single hand controller which can control power level and adjust the output spectrum.

Cost is €1799 (£1600) and you get a free €200 e-voucher code to spend on the Dutch Passion website. You can buy your SolarSystem 1100 here.

SolarSystem 550.
With a 400W power draw on maximum power, this is our overall best selling LED grow light. It is most often bought by growers with a 1x1m tent or a 1.2 x 1.2m tent. Growers love the results and we get lots of repeat buyers. If you also buy a hand controller you can adjust power from 1-100% and adjust the spectrum. This allows you to begin the growth cycle with a blue dominant spectrum and add increasing levels of red as the plant matures. Without the hand controller, power level of all the red, white and blue LEDs is set at 100%.

Cost is €899 (~£800) with a free €100 e-voucher to spend on the Dutch Passion website. You can buy your SolarSystem 550 here.

Below is an impressive video from a licensed US cannabis producer with around 2000 of the SolarSystem 550 units.

SolarSystem UVB
This light adds extra UVA and UVB light to your grow room to replicate/exceed the UV levels produced by the sun at midday in summertime California. It uses a specially designed fluorescent tube, similar but several times more powerful than a ‘reptile’ UV light tube. It would be preferred to have an LED UVB light rather than a fluorescent tube design. However, whilst LED can produce UVA and UVB it is still far more more cost effective currently to do this via fluorescent tubes.
Cost is €119 (£106). You can buy your SolarSystem UVB light here

SolarSystem Controller.
Without a controller your SolarSystem LED grow light has all the LEDs set to 100% power. With a controller you can connect up to 1000 of the SolarSystem lights together, and control the power and spectrum of them all from a single controller. You can connect any combination of different SolarSystem together, e.g. the SolarSystem 1100 and the Solar 550 in any combination. The ability to use and control a room full of grow lights with such accuracy is one of the stand-out features of the SolarSystem range. The controller allows you to program the lights to adjust power and spectrum throughout the day. Or you can program a complete grow cycle in advance. You can introduce a sunrise mode, where the light power increases gradually just like in nature. The controller is popular with both professional licensed producers as well as serious home growers.
Cost is €275 (£245) and you can buy your controller here

far_red_2.png

SolarSystem Far-Red Light.
This 100W LED unit emits Far-Red wavelengths. Far Red light manipulates Phytochrome photoreceptors; a well known phenomenon in photobiology. Phytochromes can be manipulated with far red light to produce unique results that benefit the grower. By using far red light at the end of the 14/10 cycle, it forces a plant to "sleep" immediately so the ripening can be accelerated. The idea is to use a 14/10 light cycle on photoperiod plants instead of 12/12 light. This allows heavier harvests without causing harvest delays. Simply put the SolarSystem Far-Red light on for around 15 minutes before light out, and leave it on for 15 minutes after lights out.
Cost is €365 (£325) and you can buy your SolarSystem Far-Red light here

SolarSystem 550 Veg and SolarSystem 275 veg.
These lights have a dedicated blue/white spectrum for veg growth of small plants and seedlings. The lights were introduced after many of the licensed cannabis producers wanted a purpose designed light exclusively for their ‘Veg’ rooms. These lights CAN’T be used for bloom, please note. There is simply no red in the spectrum. If you have a veg room and want a reliable light specifically designed for veg growth of your cannabis plants then these lights are perfect for you.
