Hi All,
Alaska State has legalized marijuana. I've read many posts in the breeders section, and want to see if I have this correct.

I crossed a Lowberry and an Auto AK47 (both autoflowering), having pollinated the AK47 female with the Lowberry pollen. I have hundreds of seeds in the freezer now, and a few of the seeds growing legally under my lights.

2 questions:
My reading tells me that the seeds will grow a hybrid of these two strains. Hybrid is the term, is that correct? And the resulting plants are an F1, correct?

So would it be best to cross the hybrid to another lowberry, or to another one of my new hybrids? And why?

If I cross it to another lowberry, am I back to an f1, or are the resulting plants an f2?

If I cross the hybrids to each other, the resulting plant is f2, right?

So those are my questions.

In case you aren't familiar, the Lowberry is from Dutchbreed, who crossed a Dutch Passion Blueberry with a Joint Doctor Lowryder. The result is high THC, berry-smelling, mostly indica plant, with over 20% THC.

The Automatic AK 47 is an AK47 and Lowryder, mostly sativa at 15% or so TCH. The AK47 skunky-smelling and is the easiest plant I've ever grown. It never gets the deficiencies and resulting spots and such that others get, and I've never needed to flush the plant like I end up doing with others. I'd love to get a cross of these two, where the results is berry-smelling and super-healthy and easy to grow.

Thanks for your time!

Heyy - Congrats Alaska!! Hopefully the rest of the world will catch up soon! :)

I don't know enough about breeding to answer these questions but i'll stick a request in for a breeder to come and take a looksy for ya! :)
Happy growing (and smoking) Alaskan1

Ahhhh hello my friend you my brother will have some work to do so Id gear up now for some trail and
Error that most us breeders go thru time and time.

Yes what you have now would be considered a F1 hybrid.

Should you backcross it with lowberry? Well that depends on what your after and how your F1 turned out. If you have not tried any of your F1 yet its a little too early to be thinking backcrossing unless you know for sure you want your plant to be more lowberry dom. But I'd only backcross after I've got familiar with the F1 cause it may not be need.

Yes if you get a male and female of your ak x lowberry and cross them you will get a F2 generation.

From what you said at the end your pretty clear on what traits you want so that's why I said gear up for a long road because your going to have make excellent pheno selection or you'll end up with nothing your looking for. Look into genetics "Mendels law" its kind of confusing so i recommend looking up a brakedown of terms and definitions on YouTube before you start reading so you have a base knowledge.

Also from what I've seen most strain that are blueberry dom tend to be nute sensitive so I think that will be your main focus can you get the blueberry smell/ taste but ak hardiness to nutes.
Good luck bro

I would not call it an f1 although its common to do so.
In my book the out spring is poly hybrids just like its parents most likely also are.
I believe that it takes 2 true breding sorts to make a f1 hybrid.
Still, in the cannabis world it will most likely be called f1 but that does not make it correct.

Rilla.

So Rilla,
If I crossed the LowBerry and Auto AK47, and I then grew their seeds (which I'm doing now) and then I take the subsequent seeds from one of these plants and cross them once, it's F1, or cross them twice? Thanks. So confusing.

No not really.
Let me be more clear. In the cannabis society the cross you already made is a f1, but for real a f1 is a cross with 2 true-breding sorts of which there are not so many on the market.
Skunk#1 is said to be one but i don´t really know others.

Hmmmm. Guess I'll do some research. Thanks Rilla!
