I use aircon and a dehumidifier. Tropical equator conditions.

It looks like half of my plants will be finished about 2-3 weeks before my other plants. When i started ot grow i had planned to dry them all in the same tent as im growing in but obviously now that doesnt seem possible for the ones which will finish first.

I am also limited on options due to requiring a dehumidifier (only have one) for both the flowering period and maybe some of the drying period (not sure yet). I do have aircons in other rooms, but only 1 dehumidifer. I will need to check but could well be that normal RH in another room is about 55-65% at LIGHTS ON which would be ideal I guess, but at lights off prob will get way out of whack, but that wont be a perfectly dark room most of the time, although i can try to adapt for the days whilst drying.

Another option is to buy a 2nd tent and hang my buds inside there in the same room as my flowering plants. Only thing here is that drying buds like 21c and my flowering plants currently run at 25-28c. So that would be a big swing and not sure if ideal. Would be a balancing act with the dehumidifier and my flowering plants. I guess could set to 50% and would be ok. for both. Again should the tent with drying buds be sealed closed or not? If not, then light will be an issue again here.

I have also seen drying racks but this wont rpoetct me from the light if using it in same room as flowering tent (tent is open, not sealed)

Id rather not invest money into a new tent or anything too expensive but am definitely set on trying to do the best possible drying process I can, without running risk of mould etc

Does anyone have any suggestions? (dont forget my environment is generally prone to mould with ridic outdoor RH and temps)

There really isn't a short cut or work around for drying. You need the temps to be in drying range.. However you can do that is what's needed. If that's another tent, I'd do that. A cardboard box, an old armor/closet.. Whatever gives you a stable temp of 18-24c and 45-55% humidity. There really isn't a substitute. Sounds like your best bet is the room with the aircon if the room rh is 50-55% or close to it.

thanks for the advice.

yeah problem is that room with AC and RH 50-55 is with the lights on. I will do some tests in coming days and try be as best prepared as possible. Worst case I will buy a 2nd tent/box etc and put it in same room as flowering tent. maybe i could find a way to seal my flowering tent and/or just prevent much light getting to the drying area etc whilst still maintaining temp and RH lol.

Test, test, test...here goes.

Regular household lights won't be an issue. The "no light" thing is more about direct sun light and light from grow lights. The 50-100w bulb in a room will not degrade the buds.. Plus you can always cover them or shade them some how. They don't need complete darkness.. Compete darkness doesn't even happen in nature.. So that should ease your mind a bit

I dont know if brown paper bags will work for you but I dry all my plants in them https://autoflower-portal.net/dry-cannabis-buds-brown-paper-bags-truth/

Thanks. I will prob test this option as well.

What is the RH and temp of the room you place the brown paper bags in?

Any standard brown paper bag with "food grade paper" be ok?

i just buy them off eBay and my rh is normally quite stable say maybe 50 rh and26c but in summer month my temps have gone up to 28 easy ive evn dried odd bits at the bottom of my tent but i wouldn't advise doing that but ive had zero issues from doing it and them bags look fine my friend also you can always try small amounts to see what works best for you but ive dried maybe 50 plus plants this way

Ok thanks. This sounds like the definite best option, especially if i don't need to put the brown bags in a room where temp is 21c. Dont really understand that part but whatever works. I would have thought the temp is even higher inside the bag than the 26-28c in your room, which causes the THC to go bad?

Already ordered 50 of those bags linked above and will see if I can find some thicker ones to test and compare with.

in the brown bags i have dried stuff all year round from scorching summer to cold winter but the winter months i never let my temps drop bnelow20c in my room or my tent i can't say what temps are like in the bags sorry or humidity that's why im saying start drying some small bits and see what works best for you pal as you have completely different humidity ect than the uk .also if you check my threads you will see brown paper bags right through it i never hang dry anything anymore

The brown bad method has been around for decades.. It's a proven method. If you want to know the temps inside the bag, just throw a hygrometer in the bag until it gets a steady reading. The bags should all be about the same inside.
