So i have a pair of Vision Northern Lights i got from herbies

http://www.herbiesheadshop.com/vision-northern-lights-autoflowering-feminised-seeds-4402

i am growing them in 3 gallon smart pots with roots organics original potting soil in a 48"x48"x80" grow tent under one of these

they sprouted last friday (Jan. 23). i ran them on 24hours light for the first week with fairly high temps around 77-82F with high humidity 70-80%. while doing research for non auto flower seeds i read that this was a good range for seedlings (not sure if thats ok for autos but can't change the past so...). i am now planning on running them 18/6 for the rest of their life and have the temps now around 78F with humidity at 55% although the humidity has been fluctuating. i will switch the light to a 150w HPS around week 3. (yes, no, maybe?)

they look pretty good, saw some tacoing on the one on the left this afternoon when the lights came back on

the one on the right looks ok, a little bit smaller

not sure if the tacoing is from humidity fluctuations, potential under watering, high heat, (or need to add some calmag?) although i'm not too concerned with it based on other pics of tacoing i have seen.

Also, i should mention that i did have to transplant them. i was in a rush to get started and my pots didn't get here in time so i had to use solo cups
(i know autos don't like transplanting but hey, its in the past nothing i can do now) i did that friday afternoon and they seem to be pretty healthy all in all so i think i dodged a bullet.

was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the tacoing? i did raise my lights a little in case it was heat, but since i'm not seeing anything on the second plant (the one on the right in the first pic) i dont think its heat/environmental issues.

i have an exhaust fan coming tuesday
VTX600S Vortex S-Line Powerfan 6"" 347 CFM w/ speed controller

Lastly, any recommendations for feeding? i have a general organics go box and will order anything else if anyone has suggestions

Any other advice /suggestions appreciated

Thanks!

I think your babies look great.. your plan is good and your gonna do just fine.. remember Those are babies and they stretch/grow at a very fast rate so they will canoe and wrinkle just watch their color.. My best autoflower results come from using Advanced nutrients sensi line PH perfect. i haven't had PH issues in many months and never even bother to check my PH. tang has made a autoflower feed schedule that I feel like its the best way autos want to eat.. Others here use organic with amazing results and othesr use other feed schedules that work very well for them.. i just think tangs schedule is super easy..

happy smokes!! elvis smile mic.jpg

so i guess an update. its been 28 days since they sprouted and i think they look really good.

they are feminised so i'm not worried about sex but i'm not even sure if they've started to show which from what i've read should be around this time or earlier. that being said it kinda looks like a i'm seeing calyxes around a few nodes.

maybe? 1st timer so i'm not sure. also from what i've read i should be seeing buds starting to form, right? Anyway if anyone has comments or opinions please feel free to share. thanks!

also in the first pic i posted on the last post, notice the white stuff on the outside of the pots? should i be concerned? mildew? mold?

could you post a pic a bit closer to the white stuff on the pot? can't see any calyxes in the pics but looks definitely female!

think i'm just gonna wipe it down to be safe. the plants seem fine.

Hi, jwl420 :) From that pic, it looks like some mold/mildew. If its only on the outside of the pot(s), you can mix a teaspoon of bleach in a liter/quart of water, and wipe it clean from the pot. Be careful not to introduce any of the bleach liquid to the plant, particularly the drain holes- damp, not soaked, cloth :) It might be wise to wipe down the floor of your enclosure at the same time. Molds and mildews can get out of hand, so just keep an eye out to ensure it doesn't return after the disinfecting.
Best to you!:Sharing One:

thanks man. the roots are popping out of the pot i have them in. is it still safe to do what you suggested if the roots might get some on them?

If the wanderers get a bit on them, it'll burn them. But, if they're exposed already, they're doomed anyway lolol. The dose of bleach is pretty weak, strong enough to kill mold/mildew spores. Using it with a damp rag, with care, is necessary :)
