The "directions" for using Overdrive calls for using the last two weeks before flush. As we all know with autoflowers, that is somewhat a wild guess with so many different phenotypes from the same strain. How could we use the plant itself to tell us when to switch from Big Bud to Overdrive. Perhaps judging by the percentage of red hairs. What do you all think would be a good phenotypical indicator? I would love to get a good discussion about this going, so anyone, chime in. Peace.

I asked this question to @Waximus
His response

"Hey, Brother :)
For autos, I'll wait until I see some pistols turning brown/red on the top buds, and then I have a look at the triches. They're usually all cloudy by then, and I start overdrive. 2 weeks later, its a week or so of flush- I use ANs Flawless Finish for one day (5 feedings by that stage lol) and then pH'd water until chop" :)

Use it in the last phase of the plants life, when the buds are swelling and the leaves start dying real fast.. This is the 2-3 week mark till harvest. You'll know it when you see it. It's ok to be a couple days late though, doesn't really matter. You could go with Big Bud all the way if you wanted to, so there's no real need to be precise.

Once it's ripe, use Final Flush. Make sure you leave it in with the water, don't let it run for a day and change to just water. I had to email AN to figure this part out. Just water works fine but it takes much longer and who has the patience for that, especially at chopping point.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the bigger the plant is, the bigger it's gonna live, and the slower it matures. Same principle behind the lifespan of a fly vs an elephant. So the real key is to recognize when the plants hit the last stage of its life and then start applying overdrive.
