Accidentally ripped a root while top dressing

I was top dressing my 3 week old autoflower and while I was mixing the surface soil with the dry amendments I accidentally ripped a root off and now it's in my hand, will my plant bo okay or will.it be ruined now?

Your plant will be fine, but that is not how you top dress! You don't "mix" anything into the soil when top dressing.. If you do, you will break roots.. I suggest following the directions of whatever dry amendment you are using. Im pretty sure it does not say to mix it into the surface of the soil.
 
Oh my bad, I only saw YouTube tutorials and they were mixing into the surface soil. You're telling me I can just top dress and water without having to mix the soils surface?

No worries! And yes, you shouldn't have to touch the soil.. Top dress with the amendment, then water it into the soil. It will seep into the soil as you water it.
