I was wondering whether to get an ac unit or dehumidifier. I have a 12lt dehumidifier but the tent gets to hot when I run it. Also humidity never drops below 50% when I use it. Would a ac alone be better

I use a box fan on the floor right outside my tent. I
And exhaust air out of my tent or in it depending on how the temp is staying. Will help cool it down either way. If you really wanna control your environment get a good inline fan and ducting for your tent. They have ones by o think ac infinity that have temp and humidity controls. Or i leave a door unzipped at the top so it let's air in and out. As long as its dark surrounding the tent when the grow lights are off your good. Dont want a light leak or you'll get hermies. How hot is your tent getting? You know about vpd? If not herez a chart to keep your plants the happiest you wanna keep temp and humidity ideal.

There are a couple things you can try.
1. Move the dehumidifier outside the tent if possible.
Dehumidifiers put out heat.
If the dehumidifier sits inside the tent, its heat will and raise your temperature higher than without it.
Much better would be to set it up outside if that's even possible.

2. Use a faster air flow rate.
I use humidifiers to always keep humidity in the mid-upper 60s, and it's not easy.
Much of my time is spent filling humidifiers.
The reason I mention that is because an exhaust fan with controller offers a lot of options.
A high enough exhaust speed can make conditions inside a tent come close to conditions immediately outside tent, assuming the venting takes place outside.

Google "Vapor Pressure Deficit chart" and you might change your mind about using a dehumidifier.

I bought a dehumidifier and then when I discovered Vpd realized I needed a humidifier and controller.

When is it considered late Veg for an auto.
I'm on day 21 and wondering when I should cross over to the late Veg range.

Excellent info. I do the same. I have a cheap little ultra-sonic humidifier with no humidistat , but 3 "spd", inside the tent. With my exhaust fan venting from the tent into to the room and oil heater in the room, I can adjust the humidity in the tent with the speed control.
I have a bigger and one with more control coming in today. Better dialing in the VPD!

Incredible information there growers. According to the VPD I'm grand. If anything maybe need a humidifier. Amazing
