Hey everybody, and thanks for stopping by, I have a question on a product I bought. It's called Alaska by Pennington, Pure Kelp Plant Food All Natural. On the back it claims it can be used as a foliar supplement to hydroponic systems, now I am not using a hydroponic system, I am using soil, has anybody used this as a foliar feed on autos in soil? or have knowledge to be able to tell me if i can use it. and at what strengths thanks in advance :peace:

I havent used it but if its what it claims id totally use it man.a few drops like 5-8 drops to about 16-20 ounces of well filtered water and bubbled if ya like in the bottle and in a small spray bottle (10 oz or so) stick one drop of liquid perfume free dawn or similar in there and fill with aerated mix seal up n shake the crap out of it n spray that in veg only imo. but not knowing the product thats what id do anyway..:Sharing One:

What does the dawn do if I might ask? I'll deff start it at low dosage like you say, see if I see some growth, I just dont want to keep it laying around, I use it as a soil additive but wanted to try it out as foliar

You can research the soap a little more on google, but its said that the small amount of dawn helps the leaves to open the stoma and accept the foliar feed a little better

I believe in foliar feeding. I have no science to back it up.

I usually start with a very light misting of water. Then light foliar (it's kelp as well).

Usually a little while before lights on. Sometimes after lights off and when it was too soon to water but I noticed the girls seemed to need a pick me up. I'm convinced kelp works, pretty much my only source of nute feeding as well.

Foliar feeding can have amazing results if done correctly. I always foliar feed alongside usual waterings until around week 5 and has helped my bushes considerably. Keep it weak in strength and try to catch your plant when the grow area is around 21/22c. I don't know the science behind it but apparently the leaves will only absorb it at around that temperature. It's never failed me and in pulling about 5oz an autoflower. Hopefully more this time but we will see! Good luck!

yeah about ten drops Id say for roughly 16-20 oz of water, assuming they need it that is.and the dawn serves several purposes actually from a light and natural bug pesticide/germicide/wetting agent(or spreader sticker as its also known) and takes the tension as well out of the water and lets the feed distribute more effectively and evenly with thee best results around..happy spraying Bud!:Sharing One:

Wow thanks never thought I would get so many knowledgeable answers, y'all are what makes this a great forum, thanks a lot and I will start using fpliar feeding on my young ones that are in veg
