I've got a couple of Short Stuff's Snowryder growing and both seem have slight signs of hermies early into flower however the hermie affects seem to disappear after a week into heavy flowering. Is this normal? One is nearly all female and the other nearly all male. If they're fine I'll prob mate them.

This is my first SR grow. I appreciate any feedback

What do you mean by slight signs of being a hermie? Have the plants been stressed at all? Light leaks, extreme temperatures, etc. I've done several grows of SR and never had any hermie issues nor do I ever remember hearing about any before.

I seen a couple phenos that did this. I just plucked them off. No more came back, was able to finish nanner free.

They are on the preflower area, around the 4th or 5th node?

I had a couple go Hermie on me, but I pitched them. Do not use them for seed production, unless you want a bunch of hermie plants. Find a stable male, and collect pollen. Dust straight females, and you will have good seeds. Hermie to straight will beget hermie seeds.

Basicly the "male" had a few female pistils then they died off well before the male pods opened.. The "female" had 2 seed pods just below the top branch. Plucked 'em and so far I haven't seen anymore. The plants haven't been stressed at all. Using 3 gallon cloth pots w/ root 707 with water PH of 6.5 each watering and temps ~75-88F and humidity of 20-40% depending on watering. I water them with 1L every 2 days and using 20/20/20 w/ 40ml of apple juice (extremely high PH tap water. ~8.2) and 1tsp of epson salt to counter act all the calcium in our tap water. They sit in a 5'x5' grow tent in a dedicated grow room (completely dark). Using a mix of LED (2 180 watt (90x3)) and fluorescent (2 8x2' t5's with gro-lux bulbs and a few CFL's as fillers) on a 20/4 schedule. I'm only using 1/2 the tent atm. I have a few single plant green houses I use for males and stuck them in there and in diff closets.

This is my 3rd grow with this setup. This is my first SR grow. I have a few more SR beans so it's not a big deal. Was just curious.

Thanks guys for the replies.

Does sound genetic and not environmental. I wouldn't breed them. You might want to let whoever you bought the seeds from know. May be a bad batch of seeds.

These we freebies from dope seeds.. Man I'm bummed they no longer ship to the US. Their SS specials are awesome :( Should of doubled my last order lol

I've got 2 auto assassins going one is male the other isn't showing yet. I've got 4 russian rocket fuels. one is a male which is bushy and growing crazy fast so I put him in the male closet to harvest some pollen. a onyx growing who's been slow to grow but has been growing nearly ~20% a day for the last 3 days. The female SR just started to branch out.

Is it normal for stitch strains to be _REALLY_ bushy stocky little plants for the first 2 weeks? all of my SS strains seem to be doing this but this is my first SS grow.

So far I'm having good luck with them. Started germinating this batch on 7/30 and they're ~3 inches tall with nearly no stretching and some are on their 6th set of leaves and filling out very fast.

My first auto grow were red dwarfs and they only got ~5" tall but the entire plant was one big bud. Great smoke to vape BTW

The males always show first, followed by the girls a few days to a week later. I've found that the biggest ones usually turn out to be the males.

I've grown most of the SS line and they are good seeds. You'll see two basic phenotypes from them, shorter, stockier plants that get a big main cola and 4-8 side branches. Then the bigger, bushier ones. I've had them with up to 16 branches. They produce more but also take up more room. I like the bush phenos outdoors but prefer the single cola plants for indoors as my space is small and they fit better.

Yes, we're all upset that Jim is no longer shipping to the US. His customer service is the best.
