Yayyyyyyyy!!! Sunday fun day!!!

As earlier this week I slaughtered my first born about 5 days ago, my closets got more room!! Yayyy. Time for round très.

For this, I've kicked out a bunch, kept a little and foray onto new fronts!!


It's going to be a side by side professional-amateur vs an amateur-professional; all to gear up for a gorilla glue grow (the benpire strikes hack!, Stay tuned!!)

For this grow, we've got, on the running blind corner - Been!! Coming in with local garden store baccto lite soil amended with mickhrohorrizea, bat guano, crab shells and a hint of potash,, Aaaaaaaannnnnnd wunderp juice!! And, in the other corner, in the black bottles and roots 707: Nectar for the gods!!!

White widows to be germed in paper towel and Taproot down when the time is nigh!

So, first observation: 707 soil can DRAIN!! My baccto stuff, even at a 2:1 soil: pelite (no vermiculite at all) it held onto near every drop of water I put into it (pre-soak to initiate the soil, 2.5 litres each). The 707 (8:1) was damp (saturated -> wet -> moist -> damp-> dry (yes, I do use this continuum daily)) after 24 hours! There was run-off all over!! I was debating whether it needed additional aeration, and found this to lighten the already super light soil without thinning too drastically.

I also did broke ass airpots

The SUBSTRATES!!:

Unamended 707 : perlite = 8:1

My batshitty baccto : perlite =2:1 and it's still heavy. Also in this soil is microwhorezae (4-3-3) bone meal, blood meal and guano. *EDIT* also added crab shell product (3-2-0 or 2-3-0, the pic's around somewhere) with 23%calcium, because, well, it's a carapace.

Both soils have a thinned premium quality potting soil placed atop to aid in even mild uniformity.

I fully expect the Nectar line to kick my blind ass, and actually want it!!

Beans got paper towel germ and are kicking out taproots and will be going into they homes tonight!!

I wish!! Haha, it's actually not that bad on shazAmazon. I wasn't foolishly looking this morning to add to the AN line for this comparative grow, but for the price of the 1 (one. ONE!) product from advanced, I picked up 4 more products to supplement me and get me into the Greek regimen.

I got the 30$ sampler pack (honestly, I'd be pulling a total Ben Squier if I passed that deal up!). So for the roughly 90$ that I have invested, I have 12 products from nectar. Disregarding the garden store stuff I initially purchased, juuuusssst 2 bottles from AN and I'm sitting at 80$. I know it isn't a total straight line comparison, but I believe that I'll be using equitable amounts from each line, so the products should last roughly the same use time.

Thought I'd tag along for this one, interested to see how your investment into LED and the line up of nutes turns out for you. I'm 2 weeks ahead of you on this one pal but iI'm predicting a 10 seeker on GSC from others I've looked at.
How long will be the life cycle on yours if you don't mind me asking?

I took my first one right about where I wanted, just counted a day shy of 9 weeks.

I think my beta grow, I may let things go an extra week/12 days and see what happens. I may be a greedy impatient imp, we'll see!!

So I'm not ignoring this thread, but I have gone into hard copy for these notes on the first round.

I've also noticed it's really impossible for me to start a post without 'sooo...' haha

I wrapped these pots in foil.

And I've named both!! Nectar girl is Herod. My girl is Minerva.

Herod is Zeus' wife, Minerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom. Apparently we're mixing theologies to create an amalgam. The alchemical grow? I guess my star wars joke in the title is off...Oh vell.

Goings to start feeding lightly Minerva tonight. (their morning. AM/PM flip in the Grove because off peak electricity, and it keeps me out of the cab during the middle of the day.:smoking:
